My personal top five in FCS as of tonight based on what I have seen this year. And this is why I love the playoffs. We shall see in the am. Being a Montanan, I hope I am wrong and the momentum hasn’t ceased with a long break. Let’s see if there are any intelligent responses.

The list could look similar for the next 5 years. Take JMU out of the equation of course. I don’t see NDSU moving up due to budget for sports outside of football. Probably add EWU, UND and maybe USD as well. I don’t see Cal Poly turning the corner anytime soon. Sac State just isn’t getting it done. Even with a very solid coaching staff. College football has become a mess. The NCAA is incompetent and won’t make the needed changes. Need to blow up the whole system and reformulate. Going to be interesting to watch how this shakes out.

The problem is, after the first two, every team has some glaring flaws…UM, MSU & EWU all have fatal flaws, SDSU and Sac State seem to underperform every year, etc. etc. so really, after the first two, the next 5-7 are probably interchangeable.
