Top 25 Returning FCS OL

Gris fan! First it’s #41 and was started by Choate to piss gris on (successful). Wehr is damn good and Tommy getting hurt is no one’s fault. Never said the OC is going to be amazing but we do have the best or 2nd best offense in FCS with a 6’ qb from Butte 😂. When was the last time the gris had a Montanan qb. You gris fans are oblivious and I can wait for late November for you to remember who real football looks like…
I call BS on the Cats having the best or second best offense in the fall. Please stop with the nonsense.

You think your are the expert. Show us your top 5.
1. SDSU- great run game balanced with talented receivers and big TEs

2. MSU- #2 rushing offense and #2 scoring offense #3 total offense (NCAA stats)

3. NDSU- Balanced offense with a strong OL and explose players

4. Holy Cross (kinda a toss up)- #2 3rd down efficiency and #3 rushing offense and Sluka

5. Albany or Idaho

1) sdsu
2) montana (it's my ranking)
3) ndsu
4) incarnate word
5) sac state
Understand the gris bias but you gotta be honest with yourself here… the gris almost had more special teams touchdowns than offensive touchdowns in their last 3 games and the run game was non-existent. I will say the gris offense looked great in the brawl and against delaware.

Sure, but I am venturing to guess our offense looks more different next year than the cats' offense. I mean, we are both just hoping and praying, really.

5. Albany or Idaho
1. SDSU big TE gone, Janke twins gone, Isiah Davis gone
2. Missing 3 starting OL, no backup Rb to replace Glass Jaw Joe if he gets injured, OJT for both coordinators. Let’s hope they’re in a good AA program.
3. NDSU most explosive players graduated or transferred.
4. Holy Cross - overrated last year and Saluka is at UNLV now
5. Albany/Idaho both lightning in a bottle qb’s transferred to FBS, Idaho gutted by portal and graduation of Hattenburg.

I was referring to last yr

How many offensive TD’s did MSU have in the brawl? How did that vaunted offense perform? Ranking them #2 is fucking comical.

I understand but that was one game and stats don’t lie in my opinion (also note that MSU played the toughest or 2nd toughest schedule last year). I’d say averaging just under 300 yards rushing is pretty impressive. I dislike focusing on the brawl for either team as all fans recognize the influence of home field and momentum in that game. But if not #2 easily a top #5.

Even more comical is having Holy Cross, Albany and Idaho IN the top 5 and not UM. UM could very likely go 12-0 this year…

As much as I was fucking with you before, there is a lot in flux for both teams, and for practically every team at the top of the FCS. I don't think every team will take a step backward just by losing players. This will be a wild year, and the truth is nobody has any idea about who the top 5 will be, especially if you are predicting a new look Bobcats offense.

Genuinely, I think the Cats will be tough. I don't see any other team in the Big Sky that concerns me right now. But with the portal and everything else, there will be more surprises this year than ever before across the FCS. I'm excited.

Not to troll you, but I do think that the Cats will need to have a backup ready. Chambers always scared me a lot, and I kind of assumed that he would get more play if everyone wasn't as attached to the persona and leadership that Mellott so gracefully exhibits in everything he does. But he never lasts. QB2 needs to be locked in for MSU.

I am basing this on 2023 and the gris really struggled offensively early in the season and maybe worse late into the playoffs. Bobby’s special teams combined with an aggressive defense allowed the gris to win lots of game. For crying out loud the gris almost lost to a d2 school if it wasn’t for WaGriz

Agreed on qb2 100%, but I think coaches won’t run Tommy as much considering that he can’t get hurt. Just to clarify I was talking about last year, it is probably impossible to predict the next years offense as the portal, new coaches, and new players change lots. I will say SDSU, NDSU, UM, and MSU will be the top four this year undoubtedly.

That d2 school was a lot tougher than people realize. I'm not just being biased. That team had size, speed, and was well coached.

You can roast me for this, but after watching them I think they could have made the FCS playoffs if they played in one of conferences that is not the Big Sky or Missouri Valley

Agreed, they were very good but I think the gris struggled that game as that was while Vidlak was qb1. They did finish 8-3 but lost to the same team twice.

Yea, and I'm sure that was just because of the toll it took on them to play the Griz. (Kidding)

We were still having some offensive struggles at that point, to be sure, but our defense was good. That team was tough. Honestly, they felt like one of the better non conference games in recent years.

3. Holy Cross - Sluka transferred to UNLV. Isn't going to help HC much next fall. HC has new coach. They won't be top 25. Hero Sports/Haley doesn't have them in top 25. Nice pick. Ha.

"2024’s rendition of Holy Cross will look vastly different that what was in Worcester a season ago. For starters, former head man Bob Chesney has moved on to lead James Madison and now Dan Curran is running the show. Several big name players are also gone with the transfers of star quarterback Matthew Sluka and linebacker Jacob Dobbs. Receiver Jalen Coker, who led the squad in receiving last year, is graduated and is hoping to get selected in the NFL Draft later this week. Standout offensive lineman Luke Newman has a new home at Michigan State"
