guys is there a link to listen to this game or are there none available. i got highschool playoffs going but would like to hear this one too if it's there. thanks.

Damn, we are missing a few too many good looks and only 3 of 8 from the FT line. Rebounding is pretty even, and with our lack of size now, and them being a good sized team, that is a positive for us. Cherry only has 2 points, but 3 rebounds and 2 assists, from the sounds of it the assists were very good passes. It does look like Cherry does a little of everything. He is also getting the ball into the paint, sounds like he missed a few inside shots.

AJ with 11 points and 5 assists, pretty solid 1st half for him.

Just got back from the game. Cherry is lightning :) . He is going to torture opposing teams with his quickness and defense. He sure does not look like a freshman. His outside shot is shaky but he gets to the rim with his quickness and that is where a lot of his points will come from. Young had an off shooting night but is the rebounding 3 we have been waiting for and plays very good defense. He took at least 2 charges tonight. AJ was AJ and when paired with Cherry in the backcourt played the 2. McGillis also played well and as usual was the team leader in the hustle department. The biggest surprise may have been Vassy Banny. I didn't think he was even going to play with his knee sprain. His defense was super. He is tough inside and played mostly at the 4, as did McGillis. I believe Banny had 5 or 6 rebounds. The Griz shot free throws poorly and that will have to change. They basically wore their opponents down tonight with defensive quickness.

Selvig was wearing a boot and is supposed to be out 4-6 weeks. Qvale had 10 rebounds (I think) and around 6 or 8 points. He missed several free throws. Ward was the other 5. He heated up some in the 2nd half but we are going to be pretty small up front when Qvale is out. At one point the Griz went to a 3 guard look with Banny at the 4. Stauds was shut out in the first half and spent much of it on the bench with 2 early fouls. He found his stroke in the second half and was the recipient of some very nice passes.

Box score for the game. Looks the GRIZ will rely on quickness and athleticism more this year with the injuries.

Cherry is the real deal, especially on defense. If Tinkle does not start him at the point in game one I will call for his resignation.

Having said that, Cherry's outside shot is, well...ugly. But he'll more than make up for that with steals, drives and transition baskets. He's also a great passer.

With ther injuries to Selvig and Hutchison, I fear that we won't have enough size this year to compete. Ward works hard, but he looks 6'6" at most. We'll need to shoot lights out from three to make up for our lack of size. Qvale works hard, too, but sadly, he's no Andrew Strait.
