I have no hatred of the guy whatsoever. I've never met him, so I could not possibly hate him. I have very good friends whose judgement I trust who are acquainted with him and say he's a great kid. So I'm sure he is. Mother Theresa is a helluva person as well, but like tommy, I wouldn't project her as a 102-1274-12 kind of player in the nfl.

That all said, since he played for my rival, I certainly don't any great affection for the dude either. I mean, do you think the people of Auburn would love their former HS QB when he plays for Alabama? Doing so is very Montana thing. Not necessarily bad, but unusual.

No one pointed it out because it isn't news. 99.997% of people believe the best of the fcs is below the dregs of the fbs. #fcs

"Mellott played FCS football for Montana State, where he dominated pretty much every single game he played in. But, that's FCS football, which in many cases is below even the lowest of FBS football, even schools that you won't see on TV much that play FBS football, even some of the competotion is worse at the FCS level. But, that doesn't mean Mellott isn't good or that he can't play."

This is such a poorly written paragraph that I'm not sure I would believe much of anything this writer says. Plus it doesn't say that the best FCS is worse than the worst FBS, which we all know is simply not true. He's doing a lot of generalizing rather than doing research, obviously.

I think you could say that with most NFL draft picks outside of the 1st Round. It is pretty crazy the level of talent. Often it is just finding the right fit. I hope he does well. I think they drafted him with a plan in mind. But the Raiders have upgradedon the offensive side of the ball in off season. He will have to excel on special teams to make the 53 man roster. He is fast and smart which will benefit him if asked to fill multiple roles. The comments from Tom Mcmahon Raiders Special Teams coach makes it seem like they will use him as an up back in punt formation which would make a fake punt always a possibility. Hopefully the fakes he puts in are better than the one he used with Colt Anderson when he was Special Teams coach with the Colts.

I see him playing on ST. Maybe some trick play situations like a wildcat opposite of Jeanty. God knows he chewed everyone up running from the QB position. Couldn't throw for Shite.

Better ask Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, and Washington fans whether the best of the FCS is worse than the worst of the FBS. I would say that the best of the FCS could go toe to toe with the middle of the FBS.

Oh, agree 100%. But that's most certainly NOT the perception of the vast majority of football fans.
