Agreed, this was the first time I was truly cold in Texas....windy too.

Cold in Texas... HAHAHAHA probably like slightly above freezing

I'll be the first one to admit....I constantly make fun of Texans for being cold when it is in my opinion beautiful weather...I grew up in eastern MT...I know cold...and saturday was surprisingly pretty cold.

We’re thrilled to host the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game for the next four years,” said Frisco Mayor Maher Maso. “Frisco is a great place for this title game because our community is dynamic, collaborative and sport-centric. We’re a fast growing community and extremely proud of how this event has grown with us. The FCS championship enhances our reputation as a tourist destination while providing entertainment and economic benefits for our residents. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership.”

You gotta be kidding me!

At least you as a Griz fan of having no particular reason to go there in January, so if I were you I would book a cruise to the Caribbean if that floats your boat better. This is still America, in spite of the last 7 years, so you still have that freedom of choice.

All B.S. aside, I came here to post just a quick thought. Frisco is a dynamic and progressive community and I know a lot of people who have lived there. Be that as it may, and there seems to be so much negativity to playing in a soccer stadium, one venue I thought of in the area would be at the (American) football stadium at the University of North Texas. UNT's most noteworthy football playing alumnus is Mean Joe Green, at least that was the impression I got from passing by the place several years ago. It is a straight shot up from DFW, but it is located in an industrial area which detracts from it, but the stadium is exclusively designed for American football and it seats around 30k as I vaguely recall.

As far as it still being in Texas, well all I can say to that is way back in the last century when I was in a classroom at UM, I recall someone making some point about an issue and referenced it to how it was viewed at UM. The professor came back with one of the most zinger of a comeback when he said with perfect sarcasm - "that is the way it is viewed across the country - not just in Missoula". The class erupted with a roar of laughter.

I also had a professor in the business school that told our class, and tells every class "I was a consultant for many years and lived all over the world, my one piece of advice to you is NEVER move to Dallas, Dallas sucks." Dr. Firth if anyone else had him I think they will know what i'm talking about.

Spoken like someone who got their asses handed to them in the Dallas 80s bust....anyhow how bout we just play the damn thing in Allen's high school stadium...I was honestly shocked by how beautiful the facility is when i saw it in person......much much nicer than the Cats stadium, i think it seats 17-20k also. Strictly football facility

Well that stadium will be able to double as a soccer stadium and close off the uper half...so it prbably wouldnt be a bad venue actually.

Your professor's word must carry a lot of weight. 8 million living in the DFW metroplex, while God's area code is still huffing and puffing to top 1 million and everyone bitching with each other about the ability to afford moving up to the FBS.

Years ago there was a robbery in San Francisco. Two cops had a description of the getaway car, saw a car fitting that description, and pulled it over. The two guys in the car seemed to have a legitimate alibi, but the cops had one last question: Where did you go to high school? "Why, right here in Frisco," said the driver. Whereupon the cops arrested them. They had the robbers.

No bullshit. Cops in San Francisco have caught more criminals hiding there referring to the city as "Frisco". NO ONE who lived there would ever embarrass themselves by referring to it by a name that is meaningful only to ignorant outsiders.

I LOVE calling it "SF" or "Frisco" to people I know are from there. It's hilarious. If you are that defensive about what people call your city, you likely love to smell your own farts.

"God's area code" that statement right there basically proves my point.

Based on your logic Mexico City must be the best place in the world to live because so many people live there, so maybe we should move the game there because so many people choose to live there it MUST be awesome!
