Quotes from Missoulian:

"in Montana's less-than-inspired 72-65 men's basketball win"
BOB MESEROLL Missoulian sports editor

“It's been frustrating,” Tinkle said. “We know we have the talent because we see it in practice. When it comes to game time, guys just aren't stepping up. I understand the guys' frustration because we have so many guys, we'll give a guy 3-4 minutes in one half and somebody else in the other. We're searching, we're really scrambling to try to find some consistency. But until somebody really rises above everybody else, we don't have much choice.”
WAYNE TINKLE UM Head Coach

Wayne, put some faith in 8 and sometimes 9 players and go with it. What kind of rhythm does he expect anyone to get when they only play 3-4 minutes stretches? You do have a choice. Thats what you get paid for. Which players are going to be "Your Boys"?

You should have a good idea after seeing players in countless hours of practice and numerous games.

And then calling guys out in the paper. Tinks you need to step up and make a choice.

I agree that the Griz need to find a strong starting 5 and work in 4-5 others into the mix. In yesterdays game against UCR, I felt that was the best starting 5 so far this year. Rundles added more heigth to the guard position. He can play the 1 but is suited for the 2 as well, he not only has a nice outside shot he is able to cut to the basket. Ellis is more of a true point guard.

Martin hit two 3's late in the game which helped us out a ton however I feel he continues to shoot way to much. Only my opinion so take that as you want. He shot one three off one foot which was not even close. I know he has been in a slump and they say one way to get out of a slump is to keep shooting and something will fall, but don't take sloppy shots. He is more suited to come off the bench for sure.

Hard to believe that UCR game UCLA a test for a decent part of a game about two weeks ago...Uclans did win out by 23 at the end...

Team looked hesitant and almost preseason rough, but a win is a win...got to get a lot better soon and find a starting '7' or '8' to develop some consistancy.
