I totally agree with your analysis and thanks...only I think this will be his last year. Unless he's offered more money, he'll be coaching at ASU next year.

ASU signed Sendek to a two-year extension months ago, so Tinkle isn't going there. Rarely does somebody go from a low-major to a high-major. Tinkle's next stop will be a true mid-major (which UM is not) like a WAC or Mountain West school. He was mentioned in the Fresno State and Wyoming jobs last year and that is the level he'll be at next.
Washington State is a mid-major in a major conference. Utah was in the Mountain West when Giacoletti took over so that only confirms my "theory". And Jud was in a totally different era. That leaves Montgomery, which was along time ago, but obviously what I said is not 100% true all the time. It just doesn't happen often. Low Major to Mid-Major to High-Major is much more typical.EverettGriz said:Giacoletti from ewoo to Utah.
There are a lot more who do it in BB than in football.

Jud went directly to Michigan State. Monty to Stanford. Your theory holds no water.
That is funny, since he went to Stanford in 1986.coyote said:grizzle said:Washington State is a mid-major in a major conference. Funny, it doesn't seem that long ago to me.
