Tinkle: The accidental coach bombs as predicted...

Exactly. Under that logic, LK would have been run out of town after his first year.

I also love the argument that, unless you "chew ass" on a regular basis, you can't be a good coach. That's about as simple-minded as it gets.

I don't think anybody really thinks Wayne needs to chew ass on a regular basis, but there were countless times during this season where it needed to be done. I don't know how many times I watched Dlouhy walk off the court, untuck his shirt and sit down at the end of the bench - acting like he really didn't give a damn anymore. There were many times where he barely poked his head in the huddle during timeouts. That sort of behavior shouldn't go unoticed by a good coaching staff. Maybe it is more the assistants' job to notice that crap, but I guarantee you that LK didn't let it slide when he was on the bench. What message does that send to the rest of the bench as they sit there and watch Dlouhy play ahead of them with an attitude like that?

None of these guys really seemed to have the same level of respect for Wayne as they did for Larry. I know it has something to do with Tinks playing good cop for the past two years, but he needs to establish that respect right out of the gate next year or we will be right back to square one. :twocents:

This post sounds very similar to a story about Dean Smith when hired at University of North Carolina and fans hanging him in effigy on campus his first year.
 
My students in japan are probably walking around making all kinds of mistakes.... lol oh well as long as people get the main idea. 8-)

For laughs, do a quick search of colsteveaustin's posts. No posts at all since January 2012. His second to last post was on the football board, in November of 2010, about how Pflugrad was in over his head.
 
Well once BWah outed him on video he kinda disappeard. Alpha then wanted to be cool and outed Growler1 on video but that only seemed to empower Mr. Dill.

Look at all the good coaches out there in the big 4 sports. Very rarely do they build a program out of nothing. That is where the great ones separate themselves. Good coaches usually come in and turn things around not regress.

So praytell what value is there in exhuming out of the archives a sour grapes "I told you so" post that reads no better today than it did 5 years ago. Most anybody familiar with the history of Griz athletics could resurrect their own hatchet job referencing any of a dozen former coaches - and bore the hell out of everybody in the process! I suspect that Colonel Steve is wearing sack cloth and ashes as we speak - if he hasn't already committed hari kari. :sleep:

When Tinkle's teams are again the best in the conference, win 20, and go back to the dance (all of which will happen by time Tinkle's contract is up). The bandwagon has no room for the impatient, head hunting, nonbelieving skeptics. Being a GRIZ Basketball faithful, I do not want your support later. Go bash other programs, 1st year coaches, etc. You will not be welcomed later.

Note to Tinks and the players, Please prove these few skeptics wrong, and have the last laugh. Here is to whiners and :crybaby: saving their tears over :drinking: and the hell with you!

To the supporters, thank you. :thumb: :clap: I know the team appreciates each and every supporter. BTW, it is nice to know the naysayers/skeptics are few and far between. WE also cannot wait for your continuous rants on what a bad coach Hauck is come football season. Despite being one of the top FCS programs in the nation once again.

I found out who Djollie was and put together one of those jibjab videos using his public facebook photo dancing with Justin Beiber, probably about a year ago now. I think the video has expired, it was ok, but the mere fact that he was outed was the great thing. Of course for "Ollie" he realized that now that his name could be applied to the poison he spit on this board he backed off and maybe posted another day or two after that and then just quit.
