Tink needs to go down the road

I noticed in Sports Illustrated that the coach of Belmont was making $250,000 a year. Are we being realistic thinking we can get top notch coaching paying Div II wages? Then there's the comments about Robins recruiting budget being just enough to buy a map of Montana and a tank of gas. We have one of the biggest budgets in the BSC bigger then CSU I believe. Where does all the money go if the coaches aren't getting it and the recruiting budgets sucks. We don't even offer all the sports CSU does. If WT or BH are gone in a year who's going to take those positions? FB's a little different because of the reputation of the program. Something's not right.

Where is the money going? 1 guess "Dennison" and everyone he bribes to keep the GRIZ in the BSC. I really want him to retire soon to get new blood in here that is not afraid to expand this universities horizons. (Read that the way you want) Yes you know what subject I am referring to, flame away now.

You have to understand Belmont is a private school and like Gonzaga they don't have to get approval from their respective state boards of education when it comes to coaching salaries. That's one reason why Tinkle needed to finish his degree before he got the HC job. furthermore you look at the big time state schools like Michigan and their ability to pay out huge salaries comes from the fact that a lot of their paycheck $ comes from boosters and athletic funding entities that can't be touched by state legislators becuase, they $ doesn't come from tax payer $'s. If the head football coach at Michigan was only to get his $ from the state he would probably make a little less than the President at Michigan makes which might be around 350K?
This is the problem with King George and O'Day is they really don't have the knowledge (especially George) to budget and finance programs and salaries that way. GAA is growing but, yes King george does need to leave if it's able to hit pay dirt. Hogan tried but, he screwed up by one hiring Kennedy and two not showing appreciation for the other programs like the Lady Griz hoops for one.
