Timmy injury update

There are 3 or 4 posts in the TF Feature thread speculating torn ligaments, but you have to pour through the pr pissing match to find them. Nothing confirmed from the program.

On the radio show last night, TDC said he could play tonight if there was a game.

That sounds very positive, though ankle injuries seem to be hard to judge until the player actually goes full speed on them. I'm hoping for the best.

When I first saw the injury on pluto, I thought he'd be out for a while. If TF avoided the severe sprain/stretched ligaments, he can consider himself lucky considering how his ankle was rolled on Saturday night. That is good to hear that if they had a game tomorrow night, he'd be able to play. They got pretty lucky with the schedule, with this being only a 1 game week. That is why even if he's able to play, it might still surprise me if he got game action in Bozeman.

The preference treatment, aside from not injuring the ankle, is to perform a micro-surgery to clean out the ankle to help facilitate recovery. Basically the recovery time is about the same, and you can return to full speed at a faster rate than the slow crawl that a severe ankle sprain recovery.

Per my experience, and I don't know the extent of TF's injury, it is the the amount of swelling in the region and whether swelling will recur after activity that determines the length of recovery. That is why for some PT guys, that rest only, is the best answer to minor/moderate ankle sprains.

If Travis says “he could play tonight if there was a game”, he’s probably not practicing! If he’s practicing, I can’t imagine he’s not going at full speed. He’ll be out there if he wants to be. It’ll depend on tenderness of the ankle. Especially since it’s against the kitties!

Well done, Travis, well done. DeCuire is schooling us in coaching. He said what he said to force upcoming opponents to prepare for Falls. He's also not lying to fans. Saying a player can play can mean as little as being used for a foul, or special inbounds play, for a few seconds, and that's it!

If I'm coaching the Cats, I spend very little time preparing for Falls. Realistically, he can't do much after that injury, for at least a few weeks. I'm guessing, 7 to 10 days out is the absolute best case scenario. I'd keep this injury tight lipped. I'd float out basic info, to keep opponents guessing.

Basically, DeCuire is Haucking everyone. Gamesmanship at its finest, I love it!

Ya cause I’m sure Danny Sprinkle was listening to the coaches show on Tuesday night.

I never implied that he would listen. Yet, when Hauck floats info out, you don't question it. It's common for coaches to say tidbits of information, to keep others guessing. It's all part of gamesmanship. I did also post, I'd spend very little time preparing for Falls. It's very unlikely, a player can recover that quickly from that kind of injury.

I’d be greatly surprised if whichever cat assistant has the GRIZ scout didn’t take a quick listen on the pod.

I sincerely hope that they would have better things to do then listen to our podcasts

Coaches on scouts will pretty much live and breath the team they’re scouting. They listen to coaches shows.

Do they expect to get much out of it? No. But there’s always something useful.

We can beat the Cats without Timmy, but I don’t think the Cats can win without Fray. Time for Egun to step up. Vazquez is solid.

Oh, and...Bobcats suck.
