Times Have Changed

How many times has a "new stadium attendance record" been set? I am skeptical of how attendance is calculated.

Much like the unemployment rate, they've changed the algorithm.

It's rather funny all the moaning & groaning on this thread about losing "it", or how it has all changed. Folks, consider yourselves lucky. This is just a reflection on the EXTREMELY HIGH EXPECTATIONS held by the Montana Grizzly program and its fans.

It's a fact we're not going to win them all (on the road, or home /warm or cold).
It's a fact we're not always going to have dominant teams easily cruising to titles.
It's a fact we're not always going to get the conference's best athlete at every position.

We have been spoiled by enjoying most, if not all, the above in some years. Yet our Montana Grizzlies are consistently competitive. The recent disappointments of missing the playoffs twice are essentially due to coaching changes with new coaches (both Pflu & Mick) trying to run systems the players weren't recruited for. Yet even then the team managed to adapt and return to being competitive.

None the less, Montana is still successfully recruiting outstanding talent and the future is bright. No we won't win it all every year, but we will always be in the mix. Nor should you doubt that our players still believe they have "it".

Though remember UM will never be an Eastern WA which can recruit the gifted athletes who were unable to gain admittance to an actual college. That is the curse of UM being a real university versus a four year junior college with an outstanding meth program. :ugeek:
