Time of Possession

A lot of NDSU's TOP ticked off between plays. That doesn't hurt a defense nearly as much as responding to 92 snaps. TOP is overrated when comparing an up-tempo offense to a traditional huddle offense.

The Griz defense consistently had 15-20 seconds between plays to catch their breath. I agree, kem

the Number of Plays (NoP) is much more important than ToP. Standing around talking about what is going to happen next doesn't tire people out.

NoP>ToP

In one of the games on TV right now, North Carolina went up-tempo and got a "free" 5 yards because the South Carolina guy who had been subbed for didn't hustle enough getting off the field. Lots of pluses in running lots of plays.
