Ticket Renewal Deadline Extended

What are the numbers PR? I wasn't aware attendance was a problem. I know we set two attendance records last year.

I didn't say anything about attendance. I said I assumed season ticket sales were lagging--this year. UM hasn't released any season ticket sales numbers for this year. If they weren't lagging, why would they keep extending the deadlines?

If they were lagging, they would move forward as quickly as possible to open them up. In the past even if you missed the deadline, they would call. They have been plagued with technical problems. Although I wouldn't be surprised either if they were down. Despite all the talk, they have just about priced themselves out of the market. their expanding the GSA sections hasn't helped either making many games 150.00 a seat or more. For a couple 300.00 is a lot of dough for a sat afternoon.

If they give season tickets away to someone else too soon, the former ticket holders would be pissed if they eventually wanted their tickets. There is no doubt that season ticket sales are lagging. What we don't know, is whether that's because people aren't going to buy this year, people have forgotten to buy, or people can't buy because of supposed technical problems--or the mix among these things. If the computers aren't working, how hard is it to call the ticket office or, for those in the area, to stop by the ticket office. I can't see how ticket McCartney ticket sales starting on May 9 (2 days from now), have caused football tickets sales to slow down (or technical problems with football ticket sales).

PS: You may prefer UM's program over Wyoming's, but the Griz will never have to do any heavy lifting to be competitive in the BSC...on the other hand the Pokes, competing against superior FBS programs, will have to - and will- considering that they have two things lacking at UM - money and ambition :!: Deal with it...

Not trying to be insulting here PR, but you are showing your age. If the web site is broke or there is a delay getting through the buying on line procedure, there is a huge contingent of people that become totally helpless, glassy eyed and able to function. What I get kick out of is the number of folks willing to kick in 15 bucks to buy on line rather than mail it (not like you get the tickets any faster,) call it or drop by.

It was sorta like buying obama care. there were dozens of insurance agents just dying to make a sale and would have done all the work helped folks navigate the multiple choices etc etc. by still there were millions who if they couldn't buy it on line in the time they wanted , it by god couldn't be bought.

None of it makes sense to me, but I'm old too. I think we had ours a few days after the bill came. Its pretty easy to plan for it comes the same time every year...........

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Showing my age? Haha. I spend much of my day on a computer or PDA. On the other hand, to purchase my tickets, I walked into the Adams Center and plunked down $7,000.

I did the same thing (a few bucks more though) spend the same amount of time on puter daily. The difference is if the web site was down at the moment some of the younger types decided to buy. their impression would be the whole system is broke and they can't buy. A face to face transaction or god forbid mailing a check or writing out the CC number and mailing it in is a nonexistent concept. I've seen some text each other in the same room....... if they had to wait a few minutes to complete the transaction on line, its equally broke

Yup, agreed. My daughter is currently without internet or cell phone. Wonder if she's having withdrawal. Power only part of the time. Cold water in the morning, and warm water later in the day. They have one of the few wells in the village, so they get lots of foot traffic all day long. Hot, humid. No AC. Mosquito nets. Rice, pasta and vegetables, occasional curry, and a rare chicken. Buses don't have schedules; they go only when they are full. Volunteering at an orphanage in Africa.

"Weren't" lagging, which is what I had said in my earlier posts, i.e. that I assume tickets sales are lagging. Are you telling me that you couldn't figure out that there was a typo?

Thx. I was out of MT for school and work for 14 years, including 6 in NYC. My friend always tells me that modern day kids may move out of the house, but they're never off the payroll.

I think Wyo. charges more than the product is worth; not UM.

Relative to what else Laramie and the surrounding area has to offer, their product is quite valuable.

Taxas fans certainly thought so in 2009. They bought up Wyoming season tickets just for the Texas ticket; it was less than many Longhorn fans paid for a single game in Austin.

I'll give you a hint. "Law School Transparency estimates that the current total debt-financed cost of a Berkeley J.D. is an astonishing $293,027 for nonresidents ...."

She can qualify for a resident for 2L and 3L. UC system makes you go through a formal review process, jump through a ton of hoops, and submit a lot of paperwork to switch from non-resident to resident. If it's the same as it was, it's not a huge break on the fees between resident and non-resident, but it should save you about 8-10k total over the two years. Congrats to her!

Maybe some folks seeing Titleists move up cost thread are thinking twice about ponying up $240 to watch 2nd tier FCS football while Wyoming fans pay as little as $130 for a season of FBS Mountain West action :?:... some shoppers may be beginning to question paying more for ground chuck than their neighbors pay for sirloin... :twocents:

So the UM who saw it's athletic revenues get cut in half from $1,000,000 to $500,000 last year would be able to move up AND reduce ticket prices?

No way.

Add in we're going to be rolling out softball next year which will run as much as a $1 million budget... uh-huh, lower ticket prices, sure.

Not advocating. Just reporting...but in either case the Griz do in fact charge more than the product is worth...

I feel bad that you don't get the gameday excitement that my family and I get on fall Saturdays in Missoula. I don't care if they charge more than they should or not you can't put a price on the enjoyment we get for home Griz games. I'm a working class guy that is far from wealthy but I honestly think I would pay twice what I pay now for 3 NEZ seats and parking. Some things you just cant put a price on!!!!

Far be it for me to detract from the value you and your family place on a Griz weekend. Tailgating with friends, a case of cold Oly, seats in the NEZ...sounds like a Mastercard moment to me...

I believe it; caused me to do a quick cost calculation for us MT (southcentral) residents:

Tickets (4) + GSA $325
Rooms (2) $294
Meals/drinks (ave) $130
Mileage (@ 0.50/mi) $310
total (per game) $1059
X 6 = $6354.

The cost goes higher for noon start games in November, which require two night stays, 7 home game seasons and home playoff games. We also do one road game per year, some road semis and all NC games. Can push it easily to ten grand, even higher when we get to the show...

That will be our road game this year. It's been a 17 year wait; another 3 1/2 months is nothing.
