Ticket Question

Huge

Well-known member
I have had season tickets for years and have always purchased my season tickets for playoffs. However, this year we moved due to having to add 2 more people to our group of season tickets. Don't like my seats nearly as well. My question is…Do people think there will be good seats readily available for the game on the 7th after season ticket holders seats become available?

I'm trying to decide if I should not get my season tickets and take my chances putting in for better seats.

It depends upon how many you need together. Two seats needed is easy, five together may be quite limited. Though yes, in general some good seats are always available after the reserved ones are released. However, griztix is not for the impatient. Its definition of "Best Available" is not the same as mine so it typically requires several attempts to turn up good ones.

So when does that all (releasing reserved seats, etc) start to happen?

My guess is the 7th will be close to a sell out. Snooze ya lose!

Hope you're right nzone. Yet historically we can expect something between 20,000 and 23,000. Even the ultimate playoff game versus Appalachian State with Armanti Edwards didn't sell out. I doubt this second round game will bring out more fans than that. :ugeek:

Looks like season ticket holders have until Monday morning to claim their tickets, unclaimed tickets available that afternoon. Some general admission tickets are available now. $30 each.

I think season ticket holders have until Dec 2 to renew, but I could be wrong.
GrizFan20 you are correct. "The deadline to purchase your season seats is 12:00 noon Monday, Dec 2nd." Although I know of people, not season ticket holders, already getting their print at home tickets.

My understanding is that multiple good tickets become available. Season ticket holders have gone south for the winter, people can't attend that particular date, some people have lost interest or not been using their season tickets much anyway, it's cold, various other activities are starting up (perhaps high school basketball), etc. You would have to move fast, though.

I'm not a season ticket holder, and I got two NEZ tickets on Sunday afternoon. Can't wait for the game! :thumb:

Probably the ONLY home game playoff ticket this year. After the year 2012, we should expect a sell out on December 7th.
Go Griz!

Not all season tickets sold in the NEZ this year. There were still some available for Dec 7 last night. After Monday, the selection maybe even better. Don't wait to long after noon though. My printable tickets wont be available til Dec 3

Just buy them now. Easy solution. Got my seat. Just hope the old farts next to me don't bother. They stay for the first half and leave. Every game, no matter what. Why waste the money?

I have yet to figure this one out. We pack 25-26,000 in Wash/Griz for regular season games but we can't do the same for the playoffs? The NCAA is about money and more BUTTS IN SEATS always helps. Come on people Montanans are tough! Layer up and get out there and support the Griz!

There is a LARGE faction of people who go away after the October games. A signifigant group of people who don't buy tickets after November are local businesses, corporates who use games to host office parties and other functions. Weather turns, a lot of those groups disappear. More of those comped tickets become available. The second group are fams with young kids. Don't want to take kids to cold weather games. Out of town numbers fall off too, based on poor driving conditions. There has also been a signifigant part of Griz nation that simply doesn't care about the playoffs. They attend home games for the pagentry, the tailgates and the beautiful weather. The football on the field is secondary. Seriously, there are people who attend the first three or four regular season games, who then turn around and won't even know the Griz are in the playoffs. Those people couldn't even name more than one or two players on the team. Hence, playoff games drop to 20-23,000. Always been that way, probably always will be.

I too do not like that aspect of Griz' nation. I will never like it or understand it. BUT, having said that, without all of those people I just mentioned, the Griz wouldn't be at the top of FCS attendance every year either. But it will ALWAYS astonish me how 25,971 people show up to watch Panhandle State, but on SENIOR DAY and in the playoffs, they won't come.
