throwing away our future with Smithwick-Hann

No need to go away Bear Pause, I'm sure lots of people on here agree with you. I just think, if somebody told you something in confidence, why run to an interent message board and repeat it all then?

Bear, if you want credibility, then name the players. If they aren't throwing anyone under the bus and are just stating their opinion, and they truly believe what they said to you, as you say, then they would have ZERO problem with being named. If there's no under the bus throwing or they weren't talking smack about their teammates then it shouldn't be an issue. Otherwise, it's just typical rumor mongering...

And I apologize, I wasn't meaning to suggest you have no credibility because you're a new poster, I was just pointing out that it always seems brand new posters always only post one or two things that are negative or controversial, then they disappear and never back up what they post.

Maybe I will just disappear. Then you old timers can take turns stroking yourselves off. What did I say that was negative or controversial? And no I will not throw these players under the bus. It is interesting that you have a hard time believing that a Grizzly player could have an opinion about our QB situation which is different from yours or the coaches, and you basically call me a liar because I will not compromise these players on this board. These player comments were made off the record, and they will stay that way. Does not mean they are not true. I am done.

I will support havgriz on this one, because you started posting a few days ago yet are acting and saying things like you have been on the board for a long time. You appear like a prior poster, who now doesn't have the balls to post under his old name. Sure, lots of people in Missoula know and talk to players, but people who actually know players don't pass along information like this.

BTW..can somebody post the link to the Trent McKinney quotes that he said he doesn't know how to read defenses and he can't see over the field. I get the transcripts from all the Tuesday pressers and I don't see those quotes anywhere i them, and he hasn't been at the last three pressers anyway..I was just wondering what interviews he said these things about himself were in...

PR, your on glue. You probably think 9/11 was an inside job. Just tired of all the old school posters that bully anyone that comes on here offering their insight. Just because they are newly registered and they finally stand up, doesnt mean they havent been watching the b.s. armchair opinions from the background as an observer.

Skiya, so everyone who posts something anonymously, and doesn't back it up with ANY proof is just offering insight??? I think PROOF, is at the heart of the word credibility, especially when it comes to statements like "two players told me they think Brez should be the starter".

No bullying intended. Everyone is FREE to post whatever they want and in this day and age, free to do it with anonymity. I and many though are leery of the he-said-she-said posts. And I'll give you two examples why..

The night before a Griz-Cat game not that long ago, some lunie was on here ranting and raving about what an a-hole Hauck was and that Jon Talmage was so fed up with him, that he packed his car up and drove home to California. He claimed a friend of Talmage's told him that and that we'd all find out in the morning. Gee. Guess who caught several passes for the Griz the next day?

Second, a poster, who posts quite frequently on here, posted not once, but two different seasons, that he was told by a high-ranking official that Hauck was going to be fired, DURING THE SEASON! He said his source was a UM admin. Wel,, we all know that didn't happen and was NEVER going to happen.

So, maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm just at a point where I don't believe that type of BS, and a;; I did was ask your buddy to supply the names of the players who said they want Brez to start to I can ask them if it's true.

I'm not worried about the QB situation for next year. We all knew this year would be a question without anyone having real experience . With SSH, TM, AB, Gustafson and then most likely adding Simis from Idaho and whomever else is recruited, next spring and fall QB competition will be fun to follow.

This years cat game is setting up somewhat like last years. I think we'll surprise cat fans with another upset over them. Our QB play may not be great but it will be good enough. Our defense and oline will be the keys to victory though special teams will have to contain their returners for us to pull off the win.

It was after his last home start I believe. When he said it, the press conference went quiet and they moved on to the next item. They didn't publish it for obvious reasons. I heard about it from the Kaimin sports editor who was at the conference. Not trying to stir things up, but that's what I heard. Next game at ND he was pulled.

Don't get all butt hurt Pause. If eGriz only allowed comments from "old timers" and "true Griz fans", there would be about 7 posters on this site. Carry on and get a thicker skin. I get my a$$ knocked around on here regularly and sometimes I deserve it. I would prefer more opinions - not less.

Self censorship on the sports page? Christ! At least Florio would write the story, get the facts all screwed up and relate it to rape, but at least she would write it. Why didn't the Kaimin or, URP!, Missoulian print the quote? Who killed the story? Someone on the Kaimin staff might be looking for a real job come December, and I hear the Bozeman Daily Chronicle just might be looking for a sports writer.

I won't name any category of positions, however, I will say that generally speaking, we won't be competitive in the future with our current talent level. We will not be competitive in the Big Sky Conference, and certainly not, the national level. Rather than criticizing some of the players on our current team, we should focus on recruiting and our coaching staff should be doing the same.

I'm thinking our recruiting just hit a wall with this season's showing. I keep looking at our opponents receivers and DB's, etc. and wondering how the hell did we get out recruited for this kids.

Recruiting has been going quite well. Won't have lots of schollies available, tho, due to the smaller senior class.

Do we have a contact in Edmund, OK? Because half of Weber's team was from Edmund.

We already pay more than probably every other team in the FCS.
