The dropdown OL from UW has been coming since the second semester started. He just decided too late to come (late February) so he stayed in school at UW and finished out the school year there.

So we may be getting two drop-down OL this Summer? If someone can answer this, please also tell me where I left my opened beer too. I'm ADHD cleaning and all over a 3 story house. I barely cracked that bastard and I miss it!

It'll be in the last place you look.

You're welcome.

Rest assured Griz Nation, the missing beer has been found!! Laundry room, the devil's triangle of lost beer!! It was almost too warm to drink...almost.

Glad you found the missing beer, but what are you going to do tomorrow when you wake up hungover and realize that you cleaned the wrong house?

Now it is indicated that they needed his schollie so that they could recruit a JC player??? something wrong with this picture.

It is also indicated that his scholarship will be given to a 3rd-string junior college kicker. Outrage!

Who was the last JC player at UM to have a kick as year his first year on the team? Doesn't happen that often.

Was just coming in here to post that. I can't actually recall any recent JuCo who made a transition to starting his first year here. Now many have shown up and after a full year on the roster became good players, but it seems for many JuCo's there's a full year of adjustment.

Can't recall all but of late we've had Houston Roots, Brandon Dodson, and Anthony Goodwin all come in and their first year was basically special teams duty and their 2nd year they adjusted really well, Roots especially.

Currently on the team I don't think we have a lot of JuCo kids, there's the Hines brothers that have taken 3 years just to get into the mix to start. (they red shirted their first year here).

There's also kids that transfer in, some work out, some don't - but many don't make much of a splash their first year. Jamaal Jones got up to speed quickly last year.

Marvin Turk from American River JC in Cali. Played here in 90-91. Set Montana's single season yardage mark for a receiver

If your talking JC's, they deffenetly take a year or two to improve. Kose is our best JC transfer. Injuries and Brock Coyle has been whats kept him off the feild.

Drop downs such as Jamal Jones(Washington), Jamal Wilson(Boise State, and Ellis Henderson(Hawaii) will do a little better. Craig Ochs, Justn Green, Craig Chambers and Erik Allen did allright.

How about Justin Green? He did pretty well in 2003 & 2004 for the Griz as a JC transfer who also attended San Diego State at first. I believe he was drafted in 2005 as a 5th round fullback. He's now a very positive influence on the current team as the RB coach and a great recruiting coordinator. He's the last JC transfer I can think of that got significant playing time year one that made a very nice splash.

JC transfers. Justin Green came from a JC, after first going to San Diego St. Goodwin played and contributed his first year here. Swink and Thompson. Don't recall if they had been here a year before contributing. Alt, Sabin, Hendrixson, Piette -- not sure how long it took them to start contributing. I agree that JCs usually take longer to adjust and contribute than drop downs.

Is UW short for University of Washington??

Whether the JC transfer works out or not is secondary. In the eyes of the coaching staff that is recruiting him at the time, he solves a problem. If the coaches had full confidence in the existing players at the particular position, they wouldn't recruit the JC Player. It's really that simple.

...Joe Douglas, a man amongst boys...guy was incredible.

Dallas played HS ball in Butte last season. Perhaps he has changed his mind about playing at the JC he signed with last winter.

That would be a good get certainly. But as I understood it, the primary reason Cook went the JC route is that he didn't qualify academically. Perhaps he retook his SAT until he did, which again, would be great for us.
