From a hornet fan's perspective, I would have to say that you guys have had the best looking recruiting class.

Rank the 9 Big Sky teams for next year!

Here's a thought on the academic performance of this season's GRIZ: Montana Student-Athletes on the 2005-06 Big Sky Conference Winter All-Academic Team

Name ... Sport ... Class ... GPA ... Major
Kevin Criswell ... MBB ... Sr. ... 3.30 ... Health and human performance
Bryan Ellis ... MBB ... Jr. ... 3.52 ... Sociology
Jordan Hasquet ... MBB ... Fr. ... 3.49 ... Business
Kyle Sharp ... MBB ... Fr. ... 3.26 ... Business
I am especially impressed by the academic acheivments of Ellis. If any of you read the Kaimin article on him from last February, you realize that he has really accomplished a heckuva lot. Hats off to all of these guys!

What does have to do with the question Kadeezy posed?

It iis too early to answer this question. Montana has at least one more player to sign, Montana State has about 2-3 more players to anounce. Webers Class is pretty darn impressive though.

Back to subject

The four guys the Griz have coming in are the best that I can remember.

A Great JC player (Gus Chase)
A Austrilian big man 7'0" (Vanderjagt)
A Top five player out of Minnesota (Rundles)
A great High Schooler (Zach Graves)

I dont know enough about the other conference teams to post about them

BUT HEY KADEEZY
Please give us your thoughts about Zach Graves, hes a Sacramento kid.

yeah, i agree, i just don't know enough about the other schools's recurits to venture an opinion. the cats got two good kids out of oregon but may lose the point guard. weber is loaded. we did well. that's all i know. since most big sky schools don't get three-star recruits (a la rundles or stuckey) or show up on national rankings, the recruits are just names at this point.

now we're recruiting a kid named bunkley instead of dunkley, a big mistake right there. if mr. bunkley were a football player, we'd know what flight he arrived on, who showed him around, what he ate, the name of his pet hamster. as it is, we have to rely on mslcat, our very own "rival.com."

Add 6-5 Steve Neal College of S. Idaho and Matt Janning 6-5 highschooler from Minn. (he will be on campus this Tuesday) to that list.

I just checked scout.com for the first time in a while. 2 guys that the Griz were recruiting, just got bumped up to 3 stars for some reason. Glasser to USC and Harden to Notre Dame. Shawn Imadiyi, also bumped up to 3 stars and it says he is uncommitted. I don't know if we're still recruiting him, but he must have done something recently that impressed scout.com .

Just thought I'd throw it in..forgive me, cwr-I know you never get off topic. :drinking: Plus, it's a heckuva an accomplishment and says something about the quality of the kids Krysko recruits (2 of whom are Ellis and Sharp). It is too early to compare this class to other schools, plus, as has been pointed out, recruiting is not over. I do think that Gus Chase will contribute immediately and in a big way! Thanks too, to mslacat (akagrizrivals.com) for the recruiting updates! :thumb:

What makes any of you people think you know so much. who knows what any of these recruits are gonna do. if you haven't seen them play you don't know. i saw rodney stuckey, a three star recurit, kill martell webster, a top five player in AMERICA. those rankings mean nothing.

No shit, Sherlock. No one is claiming to be a future-teller, but some kids are more talented than others. Some kids improve more from age 18 to 22, but not all recruits are created equal.

The Griz recruiting class looks rock solid - definitely a program on the rise.

Has anyone heard if the Griz are entertaining any walk-ons? I know Charlie Cox had played a few pick up scrimmages with the team and Collin Fehr from Corvallis had met with Tinkle a couple of weeks ago but nothing really "official" being said out there.

Charlie Cox is weighing transfering to the Griz as a walk-on (even a report to Utah State) or a Junior College.

The Griz have every intent of signing 1 or 2 players this spring. Look fora JC off guard /small forward as #1 on there list, and then either a freshman wing or a young D-1 transfer.

Did someone pee in your cereal?

We havent seen them play- But others have. The Griz Signed a top five player from Minnesota. De La Salle high school in Minnesota, that several big ten teams were looking at. The Australian Kid wanted to play at Gonzaga, but they did not have room. The kid in Wyoming, received national recognition as a JC.

Mabey we havent seen them play but people that have say they are GREAT.

When is the last time the Griz Bball team recruited guys on a National level. ILL HELP YOU OUT.

NEVER

Scoutdotcom ranked the Southern Idaho CC players very highly.
Did So. ID have a super season?

4 *** players and 5 ** players. It sounds pretty improbable to me.

Steve Neal is one of the *** guys, and another Minnesotan.

Payton, who I otherwise almost always agree with (at least on hoops issues :thumb:) the recruiting upswing really began under Pat Kennedy (e.g. Kamarr Davis, Andrew Strait, Matt Martin, Jordan Hasquet and Roy Booker). Admittedly, it did not translate successfully in a win/loss sense under Kennedy.
