Some coaches do have the ability to turn things around over time and perhaps Hauck still has that ability but the record shows that he hasn't done this for several years. We can debate this at length after recruitment but I am not holding my breath that he has the ability to recruit an exceptional class.
Really, in his last postion at SDSU, he was Associate HC and ST Coordinator; recruiting reported into the former role. Check out the talent that came into that program. Prior to coming to UM he was recruiting coordinator for Neuheisel at Colorado and at UDub. He already has some outstanding 2019 MT commits. With a comment like that you don't look be a debate challenge.

I wouldn't be bragging about the recruiting classes he was responsible for at the u dub. He has a horrible reputation at Washington. I actually believe he is a very good recruiter for the FCS level but would not encourage anyone I know to actually play for him. I think the word is out for how he treated his players at UNLV and the way he treated the existing players on the UM roster. He does have a style that appeals to some but by an large he has been exposed by the jerk he really is and the sooner we cut ties with him the better.

Also a good recruiting coordinator does not make him a good coach. I think it’s pretty obvious his success at um in the past was due to his recruitment and development of players. But his Xs and Os and his game plan/play calling/adjustments have always been suspect. (See Villanova championship getting mariani the ball all first half and not at all in second half while Matt Sczur shreds us)

Given the talent that the team had in the 2000s it is a miracle we didn’t have more championships

I agree with the Villanova part. Still cant figure out why we stopped throwing to Marc. He was tearing them apart. I am sure it is not so, but it seemed like the coaches took too long to realize the momentum had shifted and we needed to to back to a more agressive offense and by the time we did it was too late. Could this be part of yesterday’s problem as well? Had to work so I didnt get to watch the game but from reading on here didnt seem like JLM, Curran, Akem, Sulser had a lot of opportunities in the 2nd half.

So you think the this HC writes the game plan, calls the plays and makes the adjustments. I guess the Coordinators are just there for practice. Either your knowledge of the game is suspect or your narrative overcomes it.

I enjoy that the overall theme to this thread is that Coach Hauck needs to recruit the best players. This is a novel approach, I just hope someone makes him aware of it.

...wouldn't this apply to any coach..some like Saban some think he's a D*ck...don't play for him if
you don't like his style..that simple...I think Bobby turns it around...

He definitely controls the play narratives... aka “Bobby ball.” He definitely makes the adjustments at halftime. The only thing he doesn’t do that you’re saying is call plays... and if the plays aren’t to his narrative or to his adjustments then isn’t that also on him for not getting that to his coordinators?

You’re actually saying that Bobby has no control over the play calling at all? I think YOUR understanding of the game is suspect
