This weekends attendance

It isn't the locals that make or break the attendance - it's we who have to drive five hours in blowing snow and bad roads. It will be dark when we hit the road after the game so we can play Russian roulette with the deer. Remember that the MAJORITY of GRIZ fans don't come from Missoula! An earlier start time would surely help us out. By the way, we're on our way right now!

  Be safe. Worst case grab a motel for the night.

At last check, 13,000 of 25,000 tickets were sold to the game. :( :( :( Going to feel really empty if there is only 13-14,000. Don't think I've been to a game that small since the EARLY years of WGS.

Weather isn't looking to bad Griz Nation. Bundle up and get to WGS this afternoon!!

Is there a website somewhere that lists the attendance for ALL Griz games played at WGS?

This doesn't list all of them, but...

1. Follow the link: http://www.egriz.com/griz/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2. Click on the year (under football)
3. Click on schedule
4. Click on score/result, and the attendance will be listed on the page.

Hope this helps.

Right now it is sunny, winds are calming down to a breeze and it is 40 degrees......this is not bad weather, just good football weather ! Lets get some bodies in the stadium !

Wish we could be there. But, this time of year, Monida Pass is just too much.

With the weather and Students being gone for the holiday it's not surprising. I had to work today in Bozeman or I would have been there. I might try to make the 3rd or 4th round. :-)

14,018 according to the Trib, apparently the snow kept quite a few away in the end.
I was afraid of this, WashGriz was empty compared to it's average, we still made some noise though !

That's really sad, but probably about right. It was NOT cold, and the serious snow lasted only about 15 minutes. We were there from start to finish, and we're almost 70 years old.

Aside from the usual first weekend issues the rather uncompelling matchup really hurt the attendance also.

Playoffs are big games. Get your butt in your seat. I was able to move with the ball throughout the stadium with no trouble. Weak.

Roads were horrible from Great Falls today! -9 temp when I left home with at least 7" of fresh snow. Left the game shortly after half to beat the weather. My son said he couldn't remember ever leaving before the last play of the game! We were just happy to be there at kick off.

There was (allegedly) 17,345 at the Coastal Carolina game last year where it was -20 or something.

Weather just plays hell sometimes with getting people to games. Usually the thanksgiving weekend crowd is the smallest, but it's usually the rowdiest too.

I hate to admit it, but I missed my first playoff game in a long, long time today. I was headed to the Zoo alone, so I made it a game-time decision this morning, and when I woke up and checked MDT at 7 a.m. the road report was really ugly from Fort Benton all the way to Clearwater, so at the urging of my wife, I didn't leave Havre. Killed me not to do it. I have now missed just three playoff games since 1994. And I have been back in Havre since 1997, so that's a pretty good record. And I'll admit, through those years, especially the 2009 run, I have driven through some hellacious road conditions for Griz' playoff game. But anymore, I'm getting a little more cautious in my old age. So I fully understand others not wanting to chance it. That's why I've always wished there were MORE actual Griz fans who LIVE in Missoula. Cautious or not though, I hated not being there today, and didn't really even enjoy watching the game on TV.

UM attendance was pretty weak, but still the best of the 8 games today.

Fordham 2442
EKU 1941
Richmond 4126
SHSU 4758
Montana 14018
JMU 13040
MSU 7747
UNI 10307

Glad that any of you driving a long distance made the right call to be safe.

I agree I wish more people who live in our around Missoula would have stepped up to fill seats. Those of us "Missoula area" locals to did attended enjoyed a fun game and some great snow.

Nice to see some of the younger Griz get some playing time.
