Too bad the Missoulian can't stop printing smut for one second to write about some of the positive things Griz players do. I don't know many athletes, but the few interactions I have had with football players have been nothing but positive. For example, Ryan Fetherston took time out of his busy schedule to help us pharmacy students with a bone marrow registration drive. But that sort of story doesn't sell newspapers I guess.

The rest of you get it. Glad to hear Jordan Tripp is on the list too - he's an animal, and a great Montana kid. It's too bad the Missoulian hasn't found something good to write about, but they'll come around soon, once the Griz start spanking everyone on their schedule.
The story in the Bozo paper is about something good - good about MSU football and athletics. MSU traveled through hell these last 25 years.....imagine your in state rival beating you 17 time in a row. That's not a rivalry, it's a travesty. Then imagine you hire a coach and chase wins at all costs, only to see your players and coaches go to prison for murder and drug dealing, etc. MSU has been there, and even after 17 humiliations at the hands of the Griz, found lower ground.
Nowhere to go but up. A new president with vision, and a coach with integrity. Many on Egriz chastise Rob Ash, but really, what has the guy done wrong? He came in at rock bottom. He's building a team, philosophy, and culture of winning, and winning the right way. He's winning national coaching awards. It's not easy to win right. He's up against one of the best rivals, and possibly the best streak of success in college football against a rival, and winning its conference - UM Griz football. Yes, he's not had much success to date against the Griz, but he's made the rivalry interesting. And he's captured the MSU fans by doing it the right way.
When the Cats beat the Griz and knocked them out of the playoffs a few years back, UM paid for a full page ad in the Bozo paper. The ad praised MSU, and said the entire state was rooting for the Cats. Class act by a class organization. That's what Montana football should be about. Root like hell for your team when they play their rival, root like hell for the winner to win a national title. Period.
For me, I want UM to be fully cleared of all wrong doing. I fear this won't happen, but hope for the best. I want the Griz to be the very best they can be, fully healthy when the play the Cats. Every year. May the best team win. I want a tight game, back and forth, and at the end, MSU wins 24-23. On a last second score. By the defense. Perfect. No blow outs, no excuses, no regrets.
Hang in there Griz fans, better news is sure to be around the bend.
