This is the first time I've ever said this:

He needs some time to get his players here.

He needs players who don't throw picks, fumble, or get targeting penalties.

It isn't fair to play against a team that doesn't get any turnovers.
Terrific post PR... :egriz:

Our role now is to beat nau and be a spoiler. Chances of making it to the play offs died in Ogden and
going forward depends on if Haslam likes the direction of the team under Stitt. That’s about as concise as it gets.....

This is false. If the Griz win out, fairly sure they would be in. Playoff hopes did not die today. Of course, I think they end up 6-5 so, they will most likely die next week.

Watching this game was disappointing. On my weekly pick I did pick Weber to win.

I personally think that as long as Stitt is coach the Griz will be mediocre. Look at Stitts record at Mines not great really for as long as he was there.

I think we all hoped that Stitts “offense mind” would blossom even more at the FCS level and more talent to work with. That In my opportunity opinion has not been the case.

I know anytime you hire a new head coach and change systems it takes time to recruit players for your system. However we are three years in with Stitt and I don’t think we have seen strides.

People will point out we had reduced scholarships etc. Yes that had some impact but it’s not like the cupboards were empty.

We see what looks to be a good recruiting class for this next year if they all stick. I however worry about Stitt coaching them and getting the best out of them.

I don’t see us winning out the rest of our games and the Griz missing the playoffs again this year. Should that be the case I really think UM needs to weigh its options on Stitt.

How many if those picks, fumbles and costly penalties were by "his players"? Should we therefore expect more when they are all "his players" here?

The "his players" excuse is getting old....besides with "his players" they were .600 at mines and with crap post season results.

If we beat NAU, and win out we are in. However, it will be next to an impossible task now to beat NAU if Gresch has to sit out a game for concussion protocol. With Gresch I think we win in a shootout, but without him, we got no chance.

We beat Northern Colorado, and probably the Cats as everyone will be back. 7-4 wont get us there, 8-3 will despite some saying no.

I’m not sure what the answer is at this point. I’m at a loss. We’re in a catch 22 type situation right now. Hard choice for haslam at years end. I wouldn’t want to be him. I’m just disappointed with the program right now. It’s been years since we’ve been good, and after days like today it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just when I think the team is turning a corner, and I think maybe this whole stitt thing is moving the right directionI, I get a reality check like the ass whooping I saw today.

I get the complaints. I didn't like what happened today either. No one does. But I do see glimpses of the Griz being a force to be dealt with. We'll see. GO GRIZ!!

If it is true that Dennis Washington supports Stitt, I suspect Stitt will be coaching the Griz next year.

None of those games are gimmes. If we go 7-4 we are in.

They are turning the corner. This team is uber young and Weber has a fairly veteran team. Other than a bunch of freshman QB mistakes they went toe to toe with them and they didn't give up! Jensen has a growth mindset and turned the mistakes into opportunities to learn to be better. Even after making a bunch of mistakes he kept coming back, sticking with the system. Every time he came off the field after a mistake, you could see Stitt coaching him. I just hope he's OK and not severely concussed

Who the H is DW when it comes to Griz football, other than his $1 million donation to build WaGriz? Is he now the AD? What? :?

David, the Washington family have given UM much more than $1Million.
I know that, and applaud them for it. I'm ignorant of any DW contribution to the Griz program beyond the $1 million for WaGriz. Even so, when does a donor dictate to the AD re: the football program, if, indeed, that's true?

....and I don’t know if it is true. However, if they took a position with Haslam to keep Stitt, don’t you think he would be interested in pleasing them?

Wrong. If the Griz go 8-3 they are in. I’ll put any amount of money on that.

That means we have to beat a team with a winning record. We haven't done that in two years.
Grizeyes. Is that a factual statement?... :egriz:

It is not a factual statement.
Conference team wirth a winning record might be more accurate? ISU, when we played, but they have a losing record. Point is; we're fine against poor to mediocre teams. We're poor against conference teams with winning records.

I hope 8-3 happens but 7-4 is what I predicted and 6-5 might be a reality. Just disappointed.
