Yea would have been a totally different game for sure, but if you want to compare apples to apples, if would have been a totally different game if the Griz had their #1, quarterback also, wait even their #2, quarterback. Third season he went 8-4 and 6-2 in conference, making the playoffs. Three years, improvement each year and he would have received an extension had he started out in the current era. UM won with its 4th team QB, who has played H-back this season. The UM D played very well, the O got some drives when they needed them, and the ST's stepped up big.

7 sacks in only passes by NAU. Cookus would have been running for his life. The Griz would have found a way to beat NAU even if they had Cookus.

Our 4th team QB beat NAU's 2d team QB. If UM had had its first team QB this season, they would be a one loss team--to UW. If UM had had its second team QB today, they would have clobbered NAU.
