Which Lady Griz player does anyone think is:

-most likely to have a breakout season in 2006-07

-most likely to not do diddly squat?

...and last but not least for you guys like myself on here;

-which Lady Griz player is drop-dead hot?

I'll endeavour to add my :twocents: worth on whom may have a break-out season:

...Sonya Rogers, Lauren Beck, Betsy Snead might be possible. If Johanna Closson becomes more consistent she'll be another possible. Shadra Robison on the defensive side should be a good addition.

I wish some injured players from the past would make 100 % recoveries.

All in all, consistent play by the others added to the above would make the LG one tough team to beat!!! (They did win out over a Miami of Florida team that took Duke to two overtimes when Duke was rated #1).

I think the LG did set a new team record for seasonal free throw shooting again for the second year in a row; somewhere around 75 %, which is quite better than they were in the eighties and nineties. I think the FG shooting will be greatly improved next year as well. I sure hope so!!

Johanna Closson if she can get her offensive mind set back. She has a real sweet jump shot and some good moves.

I'm the one who started this thread, and I may add that the third question is optional or no one has to answer it (unless you really, really want to).

As for my answer to question number one, I think Sonya Rogers is most likely to have a breakout season. She got thrust into the fire after Mandy Morales injured her knee, and Sonya did a great job in Mandy's place as she started the first seven games of the season. I'll give Closson honorable mention because her play improved this past season, which even includes scoring 21 points off the bench in that blowout win against Idaho State on February 4. The one thing that makes me a little nervous is that both Rogers and Closson have big shoes to fill with Katie Edwards and Jody McLeod graduating.

I think the player that's most likely to not do squat...well that's a tough one to nail down...probably Sara Gale. She doesn't do much scoring, and even though she'll be the only senior on next year's roster, she has to work to get minutes on the floor. I expect that Britney Lohman will get much of that time off the bench because she's improving just like all the other youngsters on the team.

Dana is also a great player. Sure, she's hot, but I think she'll only get better next year. I think her points per game and rebounds per game will improve next year.

Yeah I meant to follow that up with an analysis of her game, but work called me away.
I think Dana could have a breakout season next year, and I am excited to see former teammate Shadra Robison join her and Mandy on the court next season. These three could be good for a few years to come.

Hey, if that trio did so much damage together at Billings West, they could be poised to do the same here at UM. I think the rest of the Big Sky conference better be scared of those three gals when they're on the court at the same time. Because they are going to be dangerous to defend.

Breakout season... I'm hoping Tamara Guardipee.

Well at least she's done a great job filling Hollie Tyler's shoes. She's dangerous in the paint defensively, setting up a transition offense and enabling the team to get on scoring runs with her defense. But I think Shadra is waiting in the wings and she should be phased in slowly in 2006-07.
