1-8. Griz. Ewu is very good and big on 3d down.

Eastern is not that good. We're just playing like absolute crap.

11-21 on 3d down and 2-3 on 4th for Eastern. 1-10 for Griz. Terrible by Griz.
80 plus plays for eastern to 50 plus plays. Huge TOP for eastern
Eastern average 5.5 per plant less. Griz 6.6 or more.
The D was tough in 2d half. In the field alot.
The Griz got about 7 sacks. May not have given up any.
No turnovers by Griz.
The refs set record for bad and wrong PI calls against a single team in a game. They were truly pathetic.

There is no polishing this turd, we played like dog shit today in all aspects of the game to varying degrees. We just got lucky to escape with the win instead of losing like we did to NAU in 2023.

Plays were 92 to 53. 38 of those plays were in the 4th Q. 5.21 per play for EWU to 6.62 for Griz. In 4th Q, 11 runs and 27 passes by EWU. UM had 10 plays for 16 yards in 4th Q. In 4th, UM averaged 1.6 yards per play, but EWU was 4.4. Griz had only 24 plays in 4th Q. Only 3 first downs by Griz in 2d half, with 0 in 4th Q and 16 yards. Again, congrats to the D for stepping up and fighting off 56 edit: I goofed up that number, but not in position to correct it now , plays by EWU. Again, UM gave up only 3 points in 2d half until the TD with 1 minute to go.
27-13 EWU on first downs. EWU had 15 first downs in second half, 10 of which were in 4th Q.
EWU averaged 1.0 per rush, to 4.4 for UM. Griz punted 7 times. We needed a few more longer punts.
EWU was 43 - 63 passing, but averaged fewer yards per pass than Griz. EWU had 61 and 154 yards on passing in 3d and 4th q's. But only 16-27 in the 4th Q.
The Griz D rotated 2/3 deep all game, except at corner. I only noticed 4 corners, mainly 3, but wasn't watching personnel closely
TOP was 38-22.
Griz are having to play zone, due to personnel. So, they kept everything in front of them. The 3 leading EWU receivers had longs of 33, 23 and 18. For the most part, I didn't think our secondary got beat. Just horrible PI calls on them, and some nice EWU passes that were right on the mark, even though coverage was good. EWU receivers caught the ball well, and hung onto the ball well when popped.
My wife noticed Bobby out with the small EWU prayer group at midfield after the game. I said he was doing early recruiting for Portal.
I supposed alot of fans didn't like the game, or how the Griz played (I haven't looked at comments or talked to anyone), but I thought the Griz played a good enough game and the D played fairly well (and even well in the 2d half) and stepped up big in the 2d half, as well as 1st Q. O the good early on, getting the 22-0 lead. Obviously, not putting them away and losing the big lead were not good.

Is EWU coming into this game ranked last on third down and converting fairly easy against UM a bad sign for our defense or is it because EWU freshman qb is a lot better than who they have had earlier in the season? I have not watched EWU at all before today just followed the box scores which doesn’t tell the whole story.
Eastern Washington is very good. Don't kid yourself. We won't beat them with this quarterback again.

That is a wild statement because this guy is a freshman unless you are expecting him to transfer at the end of season. Qb doesn’t play on defense or special teams.
