"They don't deserve it"

1/2 way through scouting the kitties. They're not as bad as their record suggests. Saturday will be interesting.

It won't matter - if we are at home, we win.

We'll put up 62 points on the Dallas Cowboys at home this year. :thumb:

I just find it interesting in how some posters use "we" and "they" in this thread. If we/ they beat the Cats and and another "they" (selection committee) puts them/us in the playoffs, I would make the argument that "they" the team deserves it. In other words, if we/they were 10-0 at this point more would choose "we"....

If they make the playoffs they will win their first two games, and probably their 3rd also.

And this board will look foolish once again, for all things good.

Every team's players work just as hard essentially, putting in the hours, work, etc. If we get in there is a good chance it will be based on money that we bring in to the NCAA. Hence, that we don't deserve it. Because it may leave a team of more deserving kids out of the playoffs. Get off your high horse.
However it might also be reasonably argued that no team above the lowest seed to ever win the National Championship deserves to be in (a number I do not know and couldn't find). Certainly the 20 to 24 seeds are kind of a courtesy position. If any team deserves courtesy its the Griz since their fans have been the best for nearly 30 years and the program has delivered more money to the NCAA in the form of playoff revenue than any other team. Money may not be everything but its also not nothing.

I'll lead the "revolution" here in Portland. I'll see if I can repurpose the numbskulls here that are blundering about "changing the world".

Personally, I hope we crush the cats, I hope we get some luck with other games around the FCS, and I hope we can see this team continue to play football in 2016. I'm a fan, I want the best for this program, and I hope they can keep it going. This team has a goal to get to the playoffs, and despite how tricky that goal may seem, I hope they can still achieve it.
Go Griz

We will crush the kittens. And we will crush our first round opponent at Wa/Griz.

And if there is some possible way we can squeak out a second round win on the road, and the fortunes aline and we get a third round at Wa/Griz — we will crush whomever gets sent out here.

Now most likely we will see the end of the season on the road in the second round.

For some reason, we can not win on the road and can not be beat at home. :twocents:

True..Im under the impression that a bubble BSC team or Missouri Valley team should almost always be in before a team from the east coast or south....

Have people even looked at the dog shit some of those schools go through in a season....there are some absolutely horrible conferences in the FCS.

The Patriot...Ohio Valley...Pioneer...Southwestern...could throw in Southland..MEAC...are all horrible...they shouldnt get more than one team in.

The Big South isnt great Colonial has two good teams..thats it.... go look at the teams like Kennesaw State the #2 team in the Big South has beaten and you cant tell me theyre more deserving than the Griz.

This is a reoccuring theme with most of the southern and eastern schools....after doing some research I like our chances more than last week.....

Time to pound the kitties and make the comittee make a decision!!!!

A student came over to the house the night after the election. He wondered if he could borrow our dog for a "Puppy Party." It was an "event" organized for the snowflakes and buttercups to meet and cry and commiserate and cuddle with "puppies," but all his "puppies" had failed to show, and so he wondered if he could borrow ours. I explained that the breed type was not one to cuddle with strangers, but I that was just secondary to my astonishment. A PUPPY PARTY? SERIOUSLY?

what a great safe zone..

Maybe earn is a better word than deserve. Did the Griz earn a spot in the play-offs by outstanding play?
Perhaps some of the experts on the board can answer that question.

If there are multiple 7-4 teams and the Griz join them Saturday, what makes the Griz team any less deserving?

We have been witness to the pratfalls of our team, but every other 7-4 team would tell the same story.

I hope that XP percentage is not one of the tie breaking criteria.

Here's the thing...
If we beat the Cats and get in I'm not so sure I'd want to play us. We are terribly inconsistent, but we do have a team that, if they could put a good game together in all 3 phases, could play right with many teams in the country. We haven't exactly shown that we can do that, but the potential is there. I hope we get a shot.

...beat the flippn' cats..
...earn..deserve..belong..etc...
...not only yes..but hell fakken' yes...

..... :thumb: .. 8-).. .. :butt: .. ...

I'd like to protest too but I have a job and can't afford to parade up and down streets...I have to work to make money to support the current protestors who won't work.

Way back before the season started and school was in session i had to drop someone off early in the morning and knew i would not be able to get back to sleep so i ended up walking along the river from downtown towards east Missoula. when i got near the stadium in that open field there was somebody setting up cones and running patterns, full speed busting his ass. this was before the sun was up and John Nguyen was DOING WORK.. I knew these guys worked year round and had seen the videos of them practicing in the snow in WaGriz but seeing him by him self before the sun came up in mid August was kind of eye opening. I dont think we as fans should ever doubt the work these guys put in and the heart of a U of M Athlete in any sport

At 7-4 we are much more deserving than many 2-3 loss teams in the country....

So many divisions are a freaking joke.

Well, three of those teams could be Cal Poly, Northern Colorado and Weber State. I'm pretty sure their supporters would tell you what makes them more deserving than UM is that THEY BEAT THE GRIZ HEAD TO HEAD. I'm fine with the Griz getting in, and I agree with Brint that the word "deserve" is hard to define. But let's not pretend that it is illegitimate to raise the issue of FAIRNESS if it plays out with 4 BSC teams at 7-4 and 2 others already in. I doubt we see 6 BSC teams in the field. 8-)
