They actually said it - Bobcat Stadium Noise

Are they really top 10 in rodeo? We all know Hoedown CC and Hootenanny A&M are the class of the country this year, but I heard Topeka VoTech and Southwestern Louisiana State are sneaky good this year. Also, don't sleep on Vassar College this season. It doesn't make any sense, but they have a great squad. There are apparently a ton of goats around campus.
At this point I feel you are doing this just to rile me up...

Hoedown CC is a fine program, but their barrel racing isn't at the level of other top programs. They seem to want to always turn left on that 1st barrel, when most know you should turn right...

Hootenanney A&M (or as the radio world calls them "Heeler U") has really struggled after the graduation of Colt Pistolrod. They have some young Headers that are very promising, and a 5 star bareback rider that can stay on for longer than 8 seconds.

Way to bury the lede.

The cats are actually #1 in college rodeo standings! But “Mid-Planes Community College” is a very close second. And yes, that is the actual name of the institution.
Thank you. I honestly can't believe I forgot about Mid-Planes CC. They have some real rustlers. I think they were profiled on a 30 for 30 last month. Tons of dudes named Colt (or some variant thereof), which we all know is a good metric for the strength of a rodeo squad. Not a Braydyn in the bunch.

That's right. I remember so many people in the Gallatin wondering how MSU coach Rusty Saddlebag let that 5-star slip to Hootenanny. It may come back to bite him in the ass, because Colon Blackstool might be the best bareback rider I've seen in years.

MSU has some big offers out there as well. Including Dusky Bottoms, Ned Nederlander, and Lucky Day...

I think Bottoms and Day are going big time, but if Saddlebags can land Nederlander, it will really help the roping team. Good kid from a strong family. I used to clean stables with his uncle, Red Nederlander in Hermosa Beach, Nebraska. Toughest guy I’ve ever met. He could eat 16-penny nails for lunch and shit an anvil by the end of our shift.

What is more Big Time than the #1 team in the Country... It all comes down to the NIL Money from Anvil Brand or Royal Kerckhaert...

And we aren’t even touching on the horse recruits we are bringing in next year…

Is the stadium the bobcats play in similar in design to Washington Griz? I've seen it on TV; half inflated Cat head, Cat's players celebrated with their own porta potty, and of course the "Trail of Tears". There must be more to it's new found rep for noise other than screaming about housing prices?

Correct. It all comes down to how the college rodeo circuit has become a big business. Four goat ropers are rumored to enter the porta-john to chase that NIL Skoal money the bigger programs can provide.

Rodeo is definitely a stupid sport. Not at all a part of Montana culture.

In all seriousness. Skoal is the reason that MSU doesn't have the CNFR anymore. MSU banned the advertising of tobacco products on Campus property, so Skoal (who donated and sponsored a BIG portion of Money for CNFR) said that it needed to move somewhere else. I loved going the CNFR when I was growing up. Big loss for Bozeman back then.

Interesting. I don’t know what CNFR is, but I’m guessing it’s the Canadian National Fur Resort.

Update.... It wasn't the sponsoring of the event. It was that Tobacco companies wanted to hand-out free samples to event goers, and MSU said "Nope" so they left. CNFR brings in over 100 colleges, and 400 athletes to compete in the week long event. It brought in over 22,000 spectators this past June.

That is a lot for a fur resort. Biggest one I’ve ever been to had maybe 100 people.
