Your disconnect stems from you conflating two issues. Coulter had two separate hot-takes: one is labeled in this thread titled. The other was the āloser mentalityā bull poop. He came on here like hundreds of others to walk back his garbage opinion regarding The Griz and their success on the field. Great. Like all the rest that jumped off the bandwagon, welcome back aboard.
But his other take? The off the field take about the loser mentality? He has not addressed that at all and seems to be doubling down again! Until he does, I wonāt let him hide from it.
First off, no problems here and I don't feel picked on. Disagree with me all you want. I'm an adult, and we can go back and forth all day without me getting heated at you, and I know from past experience that you are the same. No problems here, man. We good.
I'm just not as good at formatting as you are, so I'm not even going to try to do the same thing you did or I will spend an hour and make a mess. I'm going to use numerical bullets corresponding to each paragraph you responded with.
1) Fair enough. You have absolutely every right to press whoever you would like on it. I still kind of think he was right about Griz fans focusing so much on the DUI's because we didn't have so much to say about the results on the field during the offseason and in the first four games of the year. I also get why people got some real hackles up at the phrase "loser's mentality." If I had to guess, and I don't think I've ever spoken to Coulter, I'd bet he would probably like to use a different phrase.
2) You're totally right that he advertises elsewhere. I just didn't see him advertise specifically that he would tackle the DUI issue in an upcoming pod anywhere other than here. Maybe I missed it, but I genuinely did not see him do so anywhere else. At the same time, I'm not going to pretend I listen to every bit of content he provides. I can admit that I certainly cannot conclusively and undeniably say that he did not advertise it elsewhere.
3) I think we just missed each other on the point of me saying "he addressed it." I used "it" way too loosely, and left that open for interpretation. I was intending to say that he did address the DUI's on the podcast, and was trying to disagree with anyone who would say it was a "bait and switch." I thought he did address the coverage, why it has been limited, and the fact that nothing has actually happened.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but I do get the feeling that if you are not an attorney, you are somewhat educated in that field. I say that because many of your responses have shown that you understand general court processes, continuances, and where many of these items would be found (even if Homey dropped the ball and took your Panda). A lot of people, including sports journalists like Coulter, just aren't that knowledgeable about it. I'd venture to guess he probably feels like he has to wait for an actual ruling to say much of anything. He also alluded on that podcast to not wanting to get sued for saying something happened that had not been proven in court.
I felt like he did address his coverage of the DUI issue in the podcast, though he did end up talking more about people's reaction to it than giving a play by play of what the cases were about. However, he did point out that those articles were already our there and he had said previously what he thought he could.
Lastly, I will say that I think he obviously made a PR mistake by inviting everyone on egriz to listen to a pod, and then said that we all had a loser's mentality. :lol: I'm not trying to say that was a smart thing to do in PR terms. I just still don't necessarily feel like he was entirely off the mark.
We should probably go back to celebrating, now. I doubt I can hang in a debate much longer. I usually just get by on my looks, so this is really taxing on me.
