I digg it!

I'd go without the two periods, but blame my inner tweaker for that one.

What would be the best way to push a shirt like that? ASUM? Marketing @ the U athletic office? EGriz? UM Bookstore? A retailer?

Somethin i'm thinkin about. The goal is to get as many shirts to the students as possible while making -- therefore making it as cheap as humanly possible for the students.

Call me nuts.. but I don't dig the "Stand" thing. Not sure why. I like the idea though, and with the right marketing, it'll be big. ASUM, athletic department, perhaps Griz BB coaches..

dahlberg...a couple suggestions...
...don't forget the pocket..directly under the double OO..
...ZOO...has a way of saying it all...try it front and back...

...when you win say little...
...when you lose say less...paul brown

My responso to the STAND thing, not that I'm ruling out a change:

The 'Stand' has been the biggest complaint so far. Here's the rationale behind it: it's simple, very, very simple. As clever as we all try to be, it's going to sound complex or confusing to someone. The other reasoning: my friends and I have endured endless bitching for simply standing up and cheering at basketball games. Yeah, the student section at a hoops game not only sitting, but telling others to do so as well. It's the biggest obstacle right now. The lack of participation. Slap a cheesy quote, quip or pun on there and it's the same as every other shirt. This team plays so much better when students are involved and students are involved when they stand up and at least look like they care. They may look somewhat dumb outside a game setting but at the games it fits -- i think -- perfectly.

Maybe you should get about three or four kinds of quotes, then put a diff. one on every shirt.. then you have four flavors of the same shirt, just depends what's on the back. They can be traded like trading cards!

heh, maybe. but different shirts knocks down the discount for buying in bulk... i'm assuming.

A) Get a better font

B) Make everything in the middle and work your way around the T-shirt.

C) Take those damn periods off. Those make the shirts look WAY lame-o

D) Get a logo on there. I dont care if you have to go to the university or whatever but get the UM logo on the front or maybe a paw or something.

THE
UM logo
ZOO

E) Get a ballin ass quote on the back instead of just stand. And when you get your quote, move it down to your lower back so it isnt up on your shoulders.

These shirts have to be perfect for this season. PM me if you need ANY help on them. Tinks said he would help with the $$$ situation if we needed it. I would do up a better shirt but I dont have photoshop on my laptop.

a. that is a 'ballin ass' font
b. maybe. see d.
c. i'll whip something up later and see how it looks.
d. 'The Zoo' needs to be the biggest thing. everything revolves around that. need to establish that brand/name.
e. problem is finding that quote. design needs to get laid down early and i have no idea what will be catchy by the spring of '08. I need suggestions on that though. on location: will need to be at top if advertising is required to fund shirts.

Yeah, i'm working on quark. made for designing newspapers. it blows.

Swilly, Dahlberg.. go get yourselves a copy of GIMP. It's Linux's version of Photoshop. It's free, it'll do you wonders for this t-shirt design thing.

do i need linux?

and the program isn't really the problem. i don't want it too elaborate but if someone has ideas i'll try and execute them using what i have.

No, you can run it on Windows. Should be downloadable to run in XP. It will open up a lot of functionality for your designing purposes.

....good luck! Doesn't Mac have fancy software to do it with since they're "so good with graphics?"

Lucky for you, I've found a solution. http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/

if i needed to be good w/ graphics I'd have photoshop. i'll take a look at this, we'll see.

Gimp's okay.. I haven't used it enough to get all crazy about it, but it seems like an okay program once you get the hang of it. Certainly can't beat the price!
