"The Zoo" Shirts

So right now the student section at Griz games lacks any identity and personality whatsoever. I know this isn't the solution but I think one good shirt could do a lot of good as far as marketing goes so I was wondering if someone could whip up a design I could pass along to the marketing department. I'm pretty sure they are running out of their boring "UM" shirts.

I'm thinking something with "THE ZOO" big and bold across the chest, two lines. Then the Griz paw on the stomach with the cursive "Griz inside it. "THE ZOO" or "The Zoo" and not the logo should be the biggest thing on the shirt. The shirt would be maroon of course. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine brought this up last year, and he came up with a couple of ideas...he liked the maroon goons or the maroon platoon for student section names....
 
I liked "K Zone" last year thinking LK would be here longer than I thought. I used to like Dahlberg Den as well but I think the retro-ness of it being called "The Zoo" would breath some life into the program with increased alumni support.

I think The Zoo is great for a Dahlberg nickname, and I suppose it could be used for the student body at games.

The Maroon Platoon or Maroon Goons is specific for the student body section. I do like the sounds of, "The Maroon Platoon is getting wild in the Zoo tonight". We tried last year to do a lot of things...It gets frustrating
 
The idea is a good one, Wish I had the equipment to help out. Any kind of T shirt will help add the environment for the students.
 
Alright, got a rough draft from grassgrunt so I'm going to pass that along to an acquaintance in the marketing department. One more question, does anyone have any press on the old "Zoo?" Maybe an article online somewhere on what things used to be like. Thanks again.
 
and i hate to sound so needy and demanding on this. I just think the student section really needs some work. I think a lot of things could follow if we get student support to where it needs to be.

Talk to O'Day about moving the student section over to the East side of the arena with bench seats. I think that the "old fans" that sit in those seats are boring and can be moved into the upper section with an incentive to be up there. Heck, put them in the Sky club with some drinks in their hand. All I know is that in order to be considered the "zoo" you need some wild and crazy animals in there. We have 13,000 students I find it hard to believe that there are not 3000 that would come to the games.
 
I know, we need more students. this program needs it's swagger back. it needs a personality and some hype. I'll see about the seats. for that to happen there would need to be a ton of public outcry. Like a petition and some alumn saying that is where the students need to be. After hearing about the old Zoo I really want to do a kaimin story on it. I don't work for them but I'm sure they'd take it and I don't trust their sports reporting staff to do it on their own.
