The ZOO Gameday Atmosphere

We've all been discussing what can be done to improve the atmosphere at Dahlberg to try to bring back "the zoo." what are some things that we could do to get back to that? What can we do to make the atmosphere electric right from the get go?

In football, we now have the new tradition of chanting "Montana.... Grizzlies!" as the visiting team enters the stadium. What if we started doing the chant for basketball? We could start the chant right before Weber State runs out onto the court and give our full attention to the Griz. Would anyone be able to lead this chant? Maybe Chris again! :thumb:

What about other ideas?

Based on my time tail-gating for a Griz football game...if you provide the booze...they will come. I've always figured that's the reason students (not just at UofM but in general) don't buy into college basketball like they do football. The tail-gating and partying aspect is missing in hoops.

I agree that tailgating would definitely draw the crowds and improve the atmosphere. Are there any schools that actually do have tailgate parties for basketball games?

I think chanting "Montana....Grizzlies!" inside Dahlberg Arena is a fantastic and intimidating idea. Getting goosebumps thining about it. (The CHEERLEADERS and Dance Team, who are amazing beautiful by the way, would be the ones that would need to lead this CHEER)

Damm, that's it. We need an indoor tailgating facility.

Still remember the party the night before the Richmond game in Chatty. All the Tenn. bartenders could talk about was how much all the Montana fans drank, they could not keep up. Got to the point that if you were buying beers you would buy longnecks so you could carry 6 or 8 back to your group.

Yup. Allow beer sales in the arena. Gametime atmosphere would go through the roof and they would probably make enough $ to double Tinkle's salary. Two birds killed with one stone.

Vascectomy??...Can it be reversed? Why such a subordinate crowd?? The dossile Eunicks need to find a chair somewhere else.....The ZOO should be a right of passage for the typical Student-fan. If the UM looses a little gate revenue making the switch....big deal..get it from the football team. If the school is shorted in some other dept. because of the schools ..robb Peter...to pay Paul principal...maybe the Administration should take a closer look at who they're paying what for...what? Time to get off the Dope and play a straight book of business. Probably asking too much aa? :roll:

Admin......needs to grow a pair, as Eunicks abound there too. Get the Damn kids back in the Zoo....Courtside.....PERIOD! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that putting the kids back where they belong enhance the level of the Griz's play on the court....

Sorry, I remember the 70's and 80's of the basketball program all too welll, and currently, even with the spectacular team we have....doesn't hold a candle to that era in any shape or form.
