The UNLV Bobby

If hauck thinks Sacramento state thinks Montana is there super bowl he is delusional.
The hornets have played Arizona State, Fresno State and eastern washington previous to this game, all three right now are far more relevant than Montana.
They were tied for the conf. lead with Montana, not ASU, Fresno St or 3-4 EWU. They were 1-20 vs. Montana. The FBS games have nothing to do with their objective to win the BSC. If you think otherwise, it's you who's delusional.
Exactly. Tied for first place in conference, chance to beat the highest ranked team ever, only beat Griz one time in school history, and chance gain national recognition and respect for their program. It was their super bowl, so far this season. If they keep plaything the way they did against us, they will play in even bigger games later this season.

Go Griz!

To say Sac State isn't a good team this year is like saying the sun won't come up tomorrow! Sac State beat us good, Everything they wanted to do, they did. Our Team was still on their by-week off.
Sac State will represent the Big Sky well in the playoffs this year!
Griz will be fired up this Saturday against' EW. I predict a convincing win over EW!
I don't think we fans will see this team play this poorly again this season as a whole. Bobby will motivate them!
Players injured, next man up! Time to show what you can do.
They beat the Cats who sat at #5 an now us who sat at #5. Maybe Sac State is #5?

Griz got their ass kicked. That happens to every team. Sac St is a very impressive team. Give them some credit. If you have ever competed or coached you have won some and you have gotten your ass kicked some. But Bobby is a very good football coach and UM is lucky to have him. UNLV has always been a tough place for football. He did have some success there though (in comparison to other UNLV coaches). Remember John Robinson (famed USC and Rams coach) had a 14-28 record at UNLV. I think Bobby would have done a lot better there if he could have recruited players knowing they could play in the stadium they are about to share with the Raiders. Bobby is a UM guy through and through..he understands recruiting in state and has connections throughout the west. He is a solid coach and hires great assistant coaches. If you think the Griz are going to go back to winning 10 straight Big Sky Championships you might be a little unrealistic. But I think Griz can compete year in and year out to win conference and compete for a national championship.

Bobby and staff had two weeks to put together a game plan that failed on both sides of the ball. Maybe they over thought things a bit, or underestimated the Sac State staff. But coming out as rusty as they were, knowing that was a big concern, has me scratching my head. They looked like last year's team in this game, not this year's team. We will see if that gets fixed on Saturday.

I sincerely hope we DON’T meet Sac State again in the playoffs. But I agree we will both be in the playoffs.

Didn't BH say that during bye week the coaches were all over the western part of the country recruiting? It is real easy to lose some focus and I don't know whether the team had the week off from practice or how they handle it. What does the team do during a bye week anyway? Anyway things are different from than they are used to and it's not easy to slip back into the same mental state that they had built since the beginning of fall practice.

You're right. I mean what do the announcers, the fans, the players or the coaches know, right? They literally ALL said it was the most important game in Sac's history.

Sometimes you gotta be careful what you ask for.

But, with history being our guide (see Weber, SHSU), I'd LOVE to get a 2nd shot at them. :thumb:

Don't forget 2014 where we lost @ EWU 26-36 and then got our sweet revenge in the playoffs by losing @ EWU 20-37.

Hence why I didn't list EWU in my list of teams that we lost to in regular season and beat in the playoffs list.

I didn't notice you stipulate that you were only including games that we got revenge by saying "with history being our guide". Just pointing out that our most recent history is not favorable to that end.

Sure hope we can make it happen if we get the chance, though. :thumb:

I think we saw a lot of mistakes that come after bye weeks, which is why Bobby wasn't excited about it. Dropped passes that could have turned the tide early was the biggest downfall in my mind. Our D started making adjustments just before half, and if not for some big penalties (some warranted, some not), we would have forced some punts and things could have been a lot different. That will be the worst game the Griz play all year, and the best Sac plays all year.

This game was a complete joke. We always stroke Bobby off because of his record over a decade ago, nobody ever talks about how shitty he was at UNLV. The game has passed him by, Stitt would have beat Suck State.

UNLV? They haven’t had a coach with a >.500 win percentage since 1981.....

Don't think Hauck or probably anyone else for decades has been 5-2 at UNLV, but Hauck did have one pretty good year and took them to a bowl game.
