The Third, Krysco is leaving rumor thread.

I have just recently heard that this might very well be true about coach
k going to coach in the nba with Mongomery.

Anybody know anything more? Anything??

I heard from a very good source two weeks back that it was a done deal.

I have been told by a good "Griz" friend that this was a rumor spread by the Bobcat's to hurt Krysco's recruiting effert this summer and fall.

I actually ran into Krysco last week and talked to him briefly. Asked him, he shook his head and chuckled and proceeded to tell me what a great group was coming in. Meantioning his freshmen class, Strait, and Martin.

If this is a true rumor, it is set to happen in Sept.

I asked an asst b-ball coach a week ago. He laughed and said it would be news to him if true. I don't think LK would leave now. I think he wants to accomplish something at UM and has some terrific talent here and coming this year. He will always have opportunities to go to the NBA as an assistant and what's the big rush.

The Ms?

Did he shake his head up-and-down or sideways? Did he deny it and say it was a rumor, or just laugh and talk about the freshman class? It seems you are saying he denied it, but I don't actually see it in your post.

I hope he stays with staff intact for 5 years. I think there is the potential to build something special if that happens, and while money is OK, success and building a legacy is typically more important when you are retired and look back on your life. Besides, money and further advancement will come anyway, he already has money, and why not build something special at Montana first. Leaving now seems premature and Larry seems smarter than that.

He shook his head side to side as if to say, "that silly rumor and denying it" with out actually saying with his own voice it is not true. Some could read the discussing of the young players as changing the subject or him tring to tell you why he would not want to go. To be honest I am not a newspaper guy, so I did not feel like it was my place to to ask the pointed question.

What Grizfaninkalamazoo said.

If the rumors were true about Krysko, you'd think he'd be gone already.

I personally think he wants to accomplish something with his alma mater as someone in an earlier post alluded to. Maybe after two or three more years he may feel he's put in his time and accomplished what he wanted to. But it's difficult for me to imagine Krysko leaving UM after just one season. Sure, he won the Big Sky Tournament, something he never did as a player. But you'd think he'd want to do more to establish his legacy as the coach of his alma mater. I know I would.

:o :o SCARY October like THREAD  :o September is next week. November is sometime after that. No body is going anywhere unless they take me with them and that is not going to happen. Only 11 more weeks of football and then we are going to have to get serious. :o :(

What a joke....this shyt aint true!!!!!! (i can only wish) if Krysco leaves then i think im gonna go crazy! ive been waiting my whole life for a good coach at the end of the montana bench and I finally get one and he is going to the shytty GSW????? what a joke....i hate life

Larry would have too much class to leave with practice only a month and a half away. Look at Cincy.....I think they are screwed moving into the Big East without Huggins. I think if Larry were to do something like that it would be done by mid-July at the latest to be fair to the program and recruits.

He is not leaving, although he was certainly offered and turned down a large chunk of change to stay with the Griz. He will get his time in the NBA... for now the Griz should be lucky to have him and hopefully he can continue to get the program headed in the right direction.
