The Spread Option is a Fad/Gimmick Offense

And now Hermanson's out (didn't play today so we get a RS freshman (Rominger) playing virtually the entire game.

Actually, Steve Rominger is a Redshirt junior < http://www.gogriz.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/rominger_steven00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Shall we all calm down? Hell no!

All of our stuff our coaches are throwing at teams is great. Our kids are great. Our crowd is great.

The dumb coaching by our head man leaves much to be liked. Pure and simple.

Our players are great. We should not have lost any games this season. Many of our games were lost in the last few minutes of the game. Dumb down double. Blame the pope. Blame Obama. Blame Florio. Blamed Alpha or Growler but in the end it is our team. I like them.

Tough times. In the end (I hate to say it) this could be good for us. Stay tuned, I do not think we are dead just yet!

I wrote this on another thread I started but it was combined with talking about the refs, glad to see some people agree. The Griz way of football is you line up and kick the ass of the guy across from you, but we are starting to get away from that with this spread offense. The spread is an offense that lets you take advantage when your team is not as talented as your oppenent. The Griz are still more talented than most teams they will play so line up, and kick the crap out of the guy next to you, instead of trying to run these gimmick spread option sweeps, and lame ass screens. Get back to playing Griz football, either tough man football or the air bear where you take advantage of having superior wide receivers, we dont need a gimmick type no huddle offense to win!!!!!

Beings it's a Sunday morning... AMEN! :thumb:

I'm not so sure UM has the supreme talent compared to our opponents that some people see. Yes, we have a few players that could start on any team in the conference, but top to bottom I don't see it. It's not reflected in the recruiting rating websites or the matchups that I see on the field. This is what makes the idea of a lame-duck recruiting class kind of scary. UM can't afford to stagnate or take a step back in terms of talent.
