What about Gamboa?

Is Gamboa redshirting this year? If not, has he played at all on D? I don't remember seeing him out there, but I could have just not noticed.

He plays special teams. Haven't seen him on defense though.

He got in on D towards the end of the liberty game.

i have to say that both lebsock and gamboa made the plays on specialteams regarding tackling,,,tully, plain and simple does not like contact,,i bet there is a change coming.....hermy has forgotten everything he knew last year, head down and grasps at air alot...had one good hit the entire game, with many, many opportunities to make plays...

Who coached the safeties last year??? I know we have a new coach for that position. Maybe that is part of it or maybe it is a transition issue. Either way it needs fixed.

The solution at safety...? Pull Hermanson and Tully and insert ......(fill in a name, ANY name here).

Hermanson has disappeared into a personal hole and cannot deliver a decent, teeth-rattling tackle like he was capable of last year. He seems to have lost the passion for the position. I had high hopes of a stellar year for him, but coaches have to recognize when a player has given up on himself.

I would imagine coach Leon, the current safeties coach, is on a very "short leash" at this point.

I read or was told that Hermanson has been playing hurt. Is that true?
Makes more sense than believing he forgot everything about playing safety after last year.
Go Griz!

Go Griz!

I was a huge Hermanson fan after last year and it's been hurting me to watch him this year.

Tully shouldn't be starting for any Big Sky team. Enough said.

There were posters on this board that suggested Hermanson was NFL Caliber. Why? I don't know. If you can't run a sub 4.5 forty, you better be the next "F---in" John Lynch if you want to play in the NFL. Obviously, he is not that.

I wonder if the new this year safety position coach has anything to do with the lack of performance by our safetys

I see no need to talk crap about a 20 year old but I do have a question: How do you "un-teach" aggression? It seems to be one of those intangible things that you either have or don't. Coaching seems to have little to do with it. We all knew the kids that liked liked to hit, be they 140lbs or 240 lbs. I have to wonder about injury here.
