Six rainbow touchdown throws against NDU made him look like the savior of the Griz offense. Three interceptions in the first quarter against PSU revealed his immaturity more than his "zany" conduct on the sidelines between picks. Three more errant passes bounced off the hands of PSU defenders and a couple of muffed hand-offs may have been due to the typhoon conditions in Portland. Makema Simis has the skill set to be a starting quarterback but I'm not sure 2015 is the year. After waiting the entire first half for him to “keep” on the zone read I began questioning his internal fortitude. That's probably the result of unrealistic expectations. Nonetheless the Griz have been mortally wounded and the questions and criticisms that swirled before Makema Simis' ascension to Olympus will begin again. Coach Ty Gregoraks' defense yielded to a well-conceived offense but surely prevented a rout of embarrasing proportions. I question the wisdom of hiring former coach Mick Delaney to do color commentary. His remarks aren't always insightful and often disparaging to the current coaching philosophy. He may be right but it makes for awkward viewing. Congrats to all the Griz players who made succesful contributions to todays team effort.
