The Refs Were Horrible

Didn't like some of the PI calls, others were justified. MacPherson had Calhoun's number. I don't see that happening next week.

Since they won't be on the same field, I agree.

Should this be made a sticky topic? There may be some weeks it doesn't apply, but really, how often?

No.
No.
Hell no.

There are bad calls in every game at every level. It is an integral part of the game. If a "bad call" cost you the game deal with it. S*it happens. :ugeek:

What do those things have to do with the topic being discussed in this thread?

For some reason, I thought some might see some humor in this post.

Lesson learned.

A couple of the PI calls were very questionable. However, I'm still scratching my head over the 2 point conversion that was nullified. Bobby was berating the refs right in front of me for two or three plays after the next kickoff. Does anyone know what the actual call was? Illegal formation, illegal shift, etc??? I watched the replay last night and the announcers didn't know what the call was. I highly doubt that Bobby drew up this play on the chalkboard before the game and said "Let's try this one today." I bet they practiced this play dozens of times and knew exactly that the formation was legal. I hope he contacts the BSC office about that call.

I don't know, but someone told me a ref said that UM had a covered player or something. UM said that the player didn't go downfield. I don't know if it was just 8 players on the line or a receiver or what. I don't think that a covered receiver is a penalty, but again I don't know.

Apparently the refs were in the same boat as all of us!

The guy calling targeting was the same guy who tried to call Knight down on his second td too I believe
There were three things pretty much one right after the other that happened with the ref you are referring to. I commented to my wife at the time that he was almost acting like he was "getting even" or "I'll show you" to Bobby. As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, he was the ref right in front of Bobby catching hell after the phantom 2-pt conversion penalty, then he made the phantom targeting call, then he failed to make the TD call. All of these I believe were in a fairly short time frame. Just seemed VERY strange to me at the time.

Bad calls by BSC refs are a little like prison rape. At some point you kinda get used to it. Or so I'm told.
