The Refs sucked!!!!!!

Their explanation is pretty sketch.... Wonder if they do the same thing if we would have got stuffed for a 2 yard loss rather than a big gain to set up a first and goal? Doubt it.

Fact is they sucked and didn't provide the service that is expected of them. The refs let down the fcs and these boys that worked hard all year. If I was Tripp or anyone like that I would be literally devastated and I feel like I got robbed. I'm sure their competitive nature keeps them from blaming the refs but the griz today had to overcome not only ccu but also incompetent referees. I think the griz COULD have beat ccu but well never know because of the zebras. Fact is the griz didn't win or lose the game and that's unfair. I credit ccu but I won't say they were the better team because they got the w. It's impossible to tell because all things weren't fair. It's expected to SOMETIMES have a bad call or bounce but it happened all day. My friends and I watched the replay and on zoom found 12 mess ups just with out eyes. That's way too much.

Did anyone else catch a play where the Griz lined up and a sideline official had to rush in and move the ball forward a yard and a half so that it was spotted correctly? I found this a telling sign of how bad the refs were, maybe the cold had a negative effect on them.

Just talked to my brother, he missed the game. His 15 year old step son went to the game. He is a good athlete and very smart kid. He has been taught to not bitch or blame officiating. His 1st words upon getting home from the game, "Man that was the worse officiating ever!" He knew he would hear feedback not to blame the officials. He quickly said, "Ask your brother when he calls about this game. " Sure enough told my brother and the son's mother, he was right .

Didn't realize you were allowed to catch a ball with a foot 3 yards out of bounds.

You only have to have one foot in bounds, they clearly thought he did to overturn the call on the field.
He did have the one foot in bounds but it was in after his other foot was out of bounds first. Also, if he didn't bobble the ball, it was an easy completion.

Oh you're saying his first foot stepped out before he drug the second? I didn't notice that, I'd have to see a replay, I'd like to say the replay judge would see that...but as shitty as this crew was I can't.

It was hard to see. His foot was out, but from the camera angle on TV there was a person inbetween the WRs foot and the camera and you could only see about 1/4 of his foot and I believe it was a white shoe on the edge of the white out of bounds turf going into the green out of bounds area.

just to pile on, wasn't there a play fairly early on that a ref threw a flag (cant remember what for or if it was justified) but it happened inside the 30 and instead of being half way to the goal line they walked of 15 yards??

There appeared to be a familiarity the CC coaches had with the officiating crew and vice-verso. I found it strange the officials never said anything to CC about being on the field at almost every play along with walking out after most plays. Yes our coaches come out but have been trained to honor the white zone. I think we would have had a flag against us if we acted the same way.
Many holding calls missed from our NEZ angle.
Did the Ref's make two calls about items thrown on the field?
We have to be good enough to where a few bad calls don't effect us. CC a good team all the best.
NCAA needs to review its policy on crews action that impact games.

Maybe the Refs did suck today but I hope E-Grizzers aren't saying that the refs cost the Griz a win. You're not saying that are you? I wouldn't expect that from this fan base if that is the case.
CC played one hell of a game and it would be a shame if the Griz faithful didn't give them the complete credit that they deserve. They are a warm weather team, from a weak conference, that came into WAGriz and ran for over 200 yrds against the "surging" Griz D. They only commited one turnover. They made every big play that they had to in a frozen , hostle stadium. The Griz had their chances to make plays but didn't get it done. Please, for the sake of good sportsmanship, give CC their due. They earned the win.

I am not saying that, read my opening post of the thread. Most of us are just so pissed because the Griz has a 1st and goal from the 2 taken away from us in a game that we lossed by 7 points, you do the math. The momentum shift from the Griz not scoring right there changed the path of the rest of the game.

CCU accepted a late hit personal foul penalty on Wags instead of a pass interference. Ball was on the 20 I believe...so half the distance(not 15 yards) should be the rule and ball on the 10. CCU got the ball on the 5 instead.

I agree the play the reviewed when your WR was out and bobbled the ball was atrocious. Never should have been called complete.

He didn't bobble it. He caught it. Don't be a dumbass.

Does anyone know if the coaches can file an official complaint against the refs or the NCAA for the review call? I mean, that was blatantly inexcusable.

I've never complained about refs before, and ALWAYS believed that if you let the officials determine the outcome of a game...something is horribly wrong!

What I saw from the refs in the Coastal game was that if ANYONE presently employed in today's workforce, be it in a professional/para-professional position, or retail sales, did their jobs like the refs did today..they would have been fired for their performance.

FWIW, at least two of the three teams I wanted to advance today did! EWU and SELA.

Not saying that at all, we definitely got outplayed today. However, the referees taking away a play that they obviously let happen in order to review the play before that is absolutely inexcusable and against the rules of the game. Had that obvious blunder not have taken place, we likely would have went into overtime and who knows what would've happened then

Why they would want to buzz down about that play is beyond me anyway, it was an obvious catch that the side judge was 10 feet away from looking right at it. There was never a question it was a catch from the announcers or anybody.

Anyone who can't see or admit this, doesn't have a clue. Good post.

You are correct. The penalty was not inforced correctly. One of many blunders from this crew today.

No, CC accepted the PI call, which is either the spot of the PI or 15 yards from the line of scrimmage. The dumbass refs first said the roughing was accepted, and then corrected themselves.

The referees may well have criminal intent. How many blatant rules can you break and still pretend to be a ref?

CCU played well and may well have won in the end but the referees may seriously have criminal intent to influence the game. $$$

I did not see UM getting much past this point but if the referees could make money on the underdogs on the bookie's odds, cheating like they literally did on the one call, and intentionally calling the game for one side may actually be a possibility.
