The Reckoning, READ THIS HOOPS.

Woah, all I’m saying is people choose things for different reasons not based on other people’s wishes or desires. Not crapping on anyone’s degrees or life choices. Maybe being a ski bum or cos playing Yellowstone is what they want to do when they are young, or forever. Lots of incredibly successful people without any degrees at all, drive and desire plays a big part in that.
As per family of mine that work at msu, some of the fastest growing disciplines at msu have been in areas like business and marketing. Their college of Arts and Architecture, for example, is growing rapidly. Faster than the engineering program.

For UM to return to their former glory days they need to look internally at themselves and ask “are we doing everything possible to be successful (hiring the best staff, & coaches, building facilities that meet the demands of Gen Z athletes and working in a NIL world), if they can’t answer yes to everyone of those questions then they need to find leaders that can.

I’m going throw out some ideas for those questions and how the Griz can return to National prominence.

Staff -
Have to start with the top, AD needs to leave. The AD sets the tone and standards for his department and all those work under him from the heads coaches to athletic trainers and facilities folks. For example there was a SAAC letter sent to UM President, AD and some local news outlets. The letter laid out how soccer facilities were dealing with leaking fuel smells in the locker room, how the former WBB HC assaulted a staff member, and the FB HC openly using sexist language towards female staff.
You need a new AD that has a backbone, the ability to fundraise and the willingness to meet the expectations of a high caliber institution.

Facilities -
Your revenue generating sports need to always set the standard for the schools athletics. Washington Griz stadium is nice but it’s also beginning to show its age and other program’s facilities are substandard.
Going back to the SAAC letter - why are lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc stored in the same unfiltered soccer building?! If you don’t believe me go look in the double doors to the left of the Griz locker room. The building while was pretty standard in 1994 it’s not anymore, this could be a genuine Title IX issue for the school if the ladies were to file a lawsuit like the ladies at Oregon did recently. While on soccer, why don’t they have field lights?! It’s hard to be taken serious at the national level when we don’t have field lights, most colleges club sports teams have field lights yet we’re a NCAA D1 team without lights.

NIL -
Sad fact is a lot of kids at the D1 level are looking for the biggest payouts (can’t really blame them, I probably would have done the same at 19). The school needs to be doing everything they can to work on helping secure NIL deals, they need to recognize that means looking at successful NIL schools and scaling it to their size. Brand loyalty alone isn’t going to sell it to enough kids to play on a team anymore; do you think a school like Georgia could be successful with just kids that grew up bleeding red & black? Probably not.
You also need compliance staff that is great at their job because we can’t afford to be slapped with any kind of ncaa fines.

Now these are just my thoughts and observations from the personally working with UM.

PlayerRep, Hoops. You owe me at least $200. But for SURE, you owe me $100. And as we both know, you and I don’t need the money. So choose your charity and post here and I will MATCH your donation.

As for the game. I’ve suggested for many years. Griz Nation’s overconfidence is only is an exceeded Only by its arrogance. Griz Nation is metered on 1985-2002. That shit ended today. IT IS OVER.

Hats off to the Griz this year. It was sincerely a great team. There are some great kids on that team. Ah Yat, Wortham, Loud, etc etc.

I mean this. Your problem is Bobby Hauck. I get his insatiable hatred for the Cats. But he is killing your program. His instate recruiting is f*cked, certaintly after today.

Today marked a complete reset of this rivalry.
It truly is a reckoning.
I will pay the $100, which is all I owe, as soon as I get back to the week. Hauck is one of the strengths the program. Ill St is going to kick the Cats' butt. Cats can't beat Dakota schools, nor many MV schools.

What is more valuable in life after football? An engineering degree or a journalism degree. That might be a better answer for your in state recruitment argument.
Every engineer I know is desperate to get out of their careers and tells their kids to NOT become an engineer. It would be best for MSU to give their engineering students the big picture of engineering before subjecting them to 40 years of desperation.

Well if you think they will kick the Cats butts are you giving me points or what?
The two things have nothing to do with each other. I want to maximize my chance of winning the bet. Are you afraid to be? Or, or you just going to claim a better than was never made. People who lie about bets like you do are despicable.

Substitute engineer with pharmacist and MSU with UM and you still have a true statement. Don’t ask me how I know.

This is just silly. Most students at msu have nothing to do with engineering. They’re there to go skiing or cosplay ‘Yellowstone.’ And if you think that an engineering degree inherently pays more than a liberal arts degree you are a fool. My brother has a civil engineering degree from bozeman and had to go back and get a coding certificate to get a decent job. We also have an msu engineering degree holder renting our attic this winter. He is a ski patroller. I have a History degree from UM and make significantly more than both of them.
My bartender is a UM grad

You tell 'em Ivy!

You must be a retail pharmacist working for a large chain pharmacy. The pharmacists I know who work in hospitals don't have the same experience as retail pharmacists.
