It is comical that so many of you think you know what happened. Rjones61 is a prime example. FYI to all you dumb asses... everyone who was involved in the failed test/brownie making has written notarized letters to back up JR and the letters will be turned into the NCAA as part of the appeal. So no, Rjones61, the person who gave him the brownie is not anonymous, it's just not necessary to include the names of everyone involved for all you rude people to bash them like you are bashing JR because frankly, it is none of your business. If JR loses the appeal and misses half the season, then so be it, but you are all going to look really stupid (including the Missoulian) if he wins the appeal. Bet most of you who have been saying horrible things about him will be cheering for him on the sidelines when season rolls around. Hypocrites.

Whatever man. UM is a negative publicity machine. Maybe the world isn't out to get UM, and the shit that people are getting in trouble for really DID happen! Weird I know....

I love how much Cat fans care! Their program is in shambles, haven't won anything of note in 30 years, can't even get an AD who wants to be there (not surprising), and they take timeout from molesting collies to post about someone eating a brownie like seven months ago. Pretty hilarious! The envy is super strong with this one.

Their program is in no more shambles than ours was recently, and we haven't won anything of note ourselves in 15 years. The 2nd AD on paper actually looks better than the first, which is bad for us.

Give me a break.

That is a conveniently twisted comparison of the “success” the two programs have had the last 15 years.

Nice try.

Yeah and this years Bobcat team looks better on paper than last years. We hear that from Bobcat fans all the time. Doesn't turn out so bad now does it? Sounds kinda like you've been drinking yellow koolaid from a blue Bobcat cup...

The old, I didnt know it was a weed brownie excuse. C'mon, anyone who's ever eaten edibles knows they smell and taste pretty strongly of pot. I'm not buying this as an excuse at all. Marijuana should NOT be against the rules/law, especially to the tune of missing half of a season. But it is what it is, and if you test positive then you deserve the consequences regardless of how ridiculous they are. Just man up, say you made a mistake and come back halfway through the season and lock guys down.

This. All of it.

I agree, but the NCAA just lowered its penalty for weed from 1 year to half a year in 2014, so arguing that missing half a season is unfair won't carry much weight. I haven't heard a reasonable argument that gets him out of this yet. I highly doubt that if someone actually planted a laced brownie in his gift bag that they would turn themselves in or that anyone would just say they did it to get him out of trouble. The penalty is pretty severe for drugging someone. It's definitely going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Strongly disagree, just about everything stated. I know a lot of young people that have never tried pot, not once and have no idea of the taste. They may know the smell, but not the taste. So it is unfair to assume everyone should know when his brownie has ground-up weed in it especially if the brownie also had frosting. I don't know anything about JR except his play on the field, but I certainly don't know what his knowledge was of what he was consuming the night before the NDSU game, nor do you. You can state you find it hard to believe etc. but telling the kid to man up etc is not right. You really don't know for sure.

Oh c'mon now, stop it. Stop it already. People who support JR's version of the story who are hearing it from friends of his are flat out wrong. We all know it. And the people who have no information at all, just their personal biases and gut instincts are right. Makes perfect sense. Plus rushing to judgment is a noble and worthwhile endeavor. Clearly. Its not like the truth could ever possibly come out and the situation dealt with rationally. Nope.

Anybody on a college campus knows these days that "a brownie" is not the kind of "brownie" that Grandma made. It's a standing joke. That being said, the penalty in this situation is ridiculous.

They don't taste like your grandma's brownies. I'll leave it at that.

So does this years Griz team. Nope, Bobcats are only my 3rd favorite team from Montana, but the stupidity that runs rampant from trolls and "Griz" fans is ridiculous at best. These clowns are simply trying to entertain themselves at best. This is proven by when a serious thread pops up, its rarely read or commented on - but you can be sure if you post something stupid, you're going to get hundreds of reads. Guess we can call it the eGriz dummy down effect.

I would have no idea, and probably wouldn't recognize the smell either so you're correct. Being drug tested every month I avoid those type of individuals. And I don't drink either btw.

I'll stay right here, thanks.

JR and his father are not victims. True, the punishment does not meet the crime. A two game suspension should be the maximum in this case. And it will likely be appealed into just that. But this player did something wrong and rather than fess up, him and his father came up with a ridiculous story.

What did JR do that was "wrong"?

What's your basis for saying this is a "ridiculous" story? Do you know the actual facts? Do you know JR or his dad?

What should JR "fess up" to?

Let's see your answers to these questions.

Whether you think him having weed or not is wrong is up to you. The only thing I'm disgusted with is this BS story he cooked up.

1. His dad only knows what JR told him.
2. You can taste marijuana in a brownie.
3. Just as I predicted, the brownies origin would be untraceable.
4. If he knew there was a drug test coming and was unintentionally drugged, why didn't he inform the coaches, the NCAA, and make a police report? This all would have been overturned if these actions were taken, yet here we are. This kid tried to hide it. Just like he is trying to hide it now.

JR needs to have some integrity and admit that he let down his team and kick some ass in playoffs to make up for it.

Proof you are doing it wrong. You don't put the actual MJ in the brownies. It would taste like shit. Have you heard of cannabutter? You remove the THC from the MJ. Unless you are a dog, you can't smell THC.

You obviously get fake brownies... Canabutter is disgusting and very easy to distinguish what it is. And if you hear up bud with butter and use it right away its a million times better. Granted it will definitely taste more like weed that way but no matter what you can always tell if a brownie has shit in it. The smell the taste everything. I've lived in legalized states and also have 12 years of experience growing, baking, making hash, smoking, everything etc. Dabs are my fav though.. Anyways, yes you can tell if a brownie has any sort of the in it. Idgaf who you are unless you're retarded. That being said, marijuana should be legalized and supported for athletes to use.

The kids around here all know that I don't cotton to that stuff, and I have no idea what a bogus brownie would taste like. Perhaps so with JR. However, I am a big fan of brownies, but 1) I won't accept them from students, 2) if I do have brownies, they have to be certified to be made by a grandma and 3) the grandma has to be a licensed grandma.

I guarantee if you ever tried one, you would know.. The taste is unavoidable. Even really weak bakes still can be tasted. It doesn't taste like any regular brownie. Anyone who wouldn't know what to expect would think that the brownie is foul. As soon as you bite that fucker, you'll know.. And you will smell it when it's close to your mouth.

Using canna-oil to make brownies is way better than using canna butter. When you use butter, they smell and taste awful but when you use oil the taste and smell isnt that noticeable.

I learned a long time ago one does not have to drink or do drugs to have fun. I don't need an "enhancer". My fun is natural, cost no money. In fact, IMO anyone that does need drink or drugs to have fun doesn't really know what fun is. Their loss, not mine. I truly feel sorry for those that do.
