the real problem with the griz is that at a time when technology makes streaming games cheap and easy, it has become harder and harder to get them via the internet. if only those of us without t.v.'s could have been watching, johnson would not have fumbled the ball at the goal line, and it would have been a different game. trust me on this, i am in the know. oh, and those of us without a video stream would also have had some idea what was going on, something one doesn't get when listening to holien ramble about random events rather than provide a description of the action.

seriously, though, why make it more difficult and expensive for your country-wide fan base to view games? i was watching griz games for free on the internet in the freakin' 90's. i'd be happy to pay for a regular viewing service, but the um ad's office can't even manage to offer that.

It was on DirecTV 687 everywhere. If you don't have a TV, and you want to watch TV programming, you're probably going to have a bad time.

the point is that a lot of people don't have direct tv, or do but travel a lot, or whatever. by keeping the game off of bigskytv, etc, the university is losing exposure it would otherwise have. given the importance donations and that sort of thing have to universities, and the increased likelihood these occur when alums see 'good football', i would think they would make sure the games were as widely available as possible.

MWC also has a deal with root sports but the games are also streamed on the internet that root broadcasts. It can be done

I am away from my DTV service my brother and I have in Montana. I watched the game through my computer, and far from Montana. The Directv Anywhere is pretty cool. Every Big Sky game played on Root Sports is also played on the Audience Network, which is part of live viewing on Directv Anywhere.

How much are you paying if you want watch ALL of the Griz games this year from an out of state location?

For the Root sports games you'll be paying Direct TV:
$29.99 for the first year of the mandatory two year contract and $64.99 for the next year Which equals 569.88 per year, or $142.47 for each of the 4 games on Roots Sports! Yeah you get all the other stuff on TV with that, but Broadcast TV is free, and work quite well.

For the Big Sky TV games you'll need an internet connection, but are otherwise free. Internet fees vary, but lets say $50 per month for three months (which you could cancel if you like.) = $150

Eight bucks per month for the game not on big sky TV

That is $727.88

What am I missing?

For anyone with a DTV account without the Root pkg, as posted above, the Audience Network 101 & 239 broadcast the Griz game. On second thought, consider yourselves fortunate for not having viewed it! besides the poor quality of play, watching Coach Delaney pacing back and forth on the side line while feverishly fiddling through the playbook was not a sight to instill confidence.
