Not a chance in hell he can play at the next level.

By replacing portal losses with portal gains...like McDowell and Riley Wilson. We may not have had a prayer this year without them and the portal

Martinez of NAU to Baylor played in 3 games and was 12-24 passing for 110 yards. Ran 3 times for 22 yards. Looks like he was 3d qb. Baylor was 3-9. Played against Long Island, Texas and West Virginia. Games had attendance between 36,000 and 52,000. Only 4 away games.

McCoy is so overrated. He threw the ball to 1 guy 90% of the time and it happened to be to one of the best receivers in the FCS which made him look way better than what he was. 2 big games this year against us and last week, he proved that he's not a big game QB and literally shit the bed. Without a wr like Hayden to throw to, he will be an average QB and hes not good enough to start for a big time FBS school. He should've stayed in Idaho but he will learn the hard way that his success won't be like it was his first 2 years.

FCS QB's RARELY go to FBS and excel. In fact, other than VA at Oregon, I can't think of another one that did.

And honestly, even RB's that go FBS rarely excel. I think any QB or RB looking to make a move up is purely looking at $$, not PT or quality PT.

Martinez could have DESTROYED the BSC for 4 years, instead he'll ride the pine at Baylor. McCoy could have been a star at Idaho. He'll go somewhere and ride the pine, or he'll end up at a Texas State or a Louisiana-Lafayette and play even MORE meaningless football.

Gabe Sulser left for Texas and logged exactly two catches in his two years. I don't know him or have any inside info, but I think if you were to ask him, he'd have no regrets in deciding to leave. Toure played until he graduated, did everything asked of him as Hauck noted, and moved on. I don't think he's got any regrets about taking advantage of his opportunities.

Kids leave for a variety of reasons. Some of them are now looking for money, but I don't believe that's the reason for most of them. In addition, and has been this way since the beginning of the tunnel era, more than half the kids who decide to go that way, wind up out of football. Grass not greener is a reality of life for a college athlete who gets bad advice or bets on themselves only to find less interest than they had hoped. I think this is why you have to find guys, particularly at the QB spot, who can play pretty quickly after they arrive, including those who are HS graduates.

Cam Ward from UIW to Washington State. There have been a handful.

yeah, who just reentered the portal, BTW. and is being pursued by Miami, Auburn, FL State and Ohio State...

We lost some players due to injury and a few more are gonna leave after our game in Frisco now that Entz is gone.

Player movement happenes to every team. We don't rebuild we reload

Dakota Prukop.

Yeah, he continued to struggle at Oregon but hey, he bettered himself the moment he left Bozo ;)

Colloquially known as going for seconds in Fargo.

Spuds lose their kicker Chavez to the draft.

And like AK posted, Hatten is also going to the NFL.

Get guys from HS that FBS schools may want 2-3 years later. Sure, GA Tech wants Furman's stud DE now, but Furman got his production first. Portal recruiting is slowly replacing HS recruiting at the FBS level. HS guys with FBS dreams are falling through the cracks. So, try to get dudes on their way up who would've had FBS offers out of HS before the portal.

Edit to add: I'm acquaintances with a HS baseball coach in town that usually places a few kids in college programs each year. He thinks the portal has disrupted baseball recruiting as much as football. Guys who would've had DI talent pre-portal are signing with places like Concordia because the DI schools are just signing from the portal unless it's a blue-chip guy who will probably get drafted out of HS anyway. It made a lot of sense to me, really.

My guess: The best, most thoughtful head coaches will look at this as an opportunity, or at the very least just one more challenge to incorporate into how they run a program, than something to lament and whine about. Because lamentation and whining probably doesn't lead to winning. Just a hunch.

Did congress re-establish the military draft? How will he be drafted? Isn’t he the one that missed 3 FGs and an extra point in their last game?

Hatten is the wide receiver.

Chavez, the kicker, also declared for the draft.
