This is the real other Petrino:
" The 2018-19 season is Mike Petrino’s third year as an assistant coach at Montana. He was hired in August 2016 by then first-year coach Shannon Schweyen.
The Lady Griz went 7-23 in Petrino’s first year on staff. It was a season marked by personnel setbacks due to injuries early and some well-deserved late-season success, as Montana won four of its final seven regular-season games.
Additional injuries hampered the 2017-18 season, but this time the more experienced Lady Griz were better equipped to handle it and improved to 14 wins. One came at the Big Sky Conference tournament in Reno.
Petrino, who was born in Glasgow and raised in Kalispell, has more than two decades of coaching experience, from high school freshmen to Colorado of the Pac-12, where he was on staff in 2015-16.
After coaching at various schools throughout Montana, Petrino moved to Portland in the early 2000s and took a teaching and coaching position at Central Catholic High.
He spent 10 years at the school, the final five as the head coach of the boys’ basketball team. The Rams went 97-37 under Petrino, won five Mt. Hood Conference titles and twice placed third at the Oregon Class 6A state tournament. Nine of his athletes would go on to play college basketball.
Petrino started coaching Division I women’s basketball in 2011-12, when he was hired at Wyoming. He would spend four years on Joe Legerski’s staff. The Cowgirls twice won 20 or more games and advanced to the 2013 WNIT.
He was on Linda Lappe’s staff at Colorado in 2015-16.
Petrino is a 1999 graduate of MSU Billings and is married to the former Kelly Hays, the daughter of former Griz basketball player Eric Hays. The couple has two daughters, Jamieson and Hayden.
Petrino’s brother, Jason, is the head football coach at Rocky Mountain. His other brother, Jared, is on the Rocky Mountain coaching staff.
Petrino’s cousins, Bobby and Paul, are the head football coaches at Louisville and Idaho. His uncle, Bob Sr., was the longtime football coach at Carroll."
