The OL

The video of the play where our OL guys are literally walking to the sideline as Sam is fighting for his life before getting sacked is such a fudge awful look.

I said in another thread that unlike against UNCO in 2016, at least our guys didn't quit, but I hadn't seen that play before I said it, and I completely retract that.

That's about as bad as it gets for a coach. Maybe there are legs to the rumblings that the team isn't happy with what they're trying to do.

I just watched the game back this morning. There are actually a few of those plays around that time, Mayginnes in particular. I don't know if something personal happened, he was gassed, or what, but he just stopped playing and got pulled.

Walker was in shambles on the last couple of drives...he was personally responsible for 2 late-game sacks.

There is zero chance he makes a NFL roster. Zero.

No excuses, but any sense of an injury report for this group? Ferris D last week might have left them, with a few marks of their own...big, fast and pounding.

Hurt feelings. That's the injury report I saw.

SOLA - Soft Offensive Line Attitude.

I listened on the radio and Riley never said anything.

Is it as bad as everyone is making it out to be?

I’ve never seen anything like it, honestly.

Yes, Yes it was. Almost unbelievable.

Riley would never cross the company line. Bobby has Riley wrapped around his finger.

And no, it’s worse.

Isn't Riley employed by the University? If so, I would imagine he is kind of required to keep the maroon colored filter on.

Does the Griz faithful want an OL breakdown from last Saturday's game? Here is how I do it:

1 point - If you execute your block and don't show any sign of getting beat
.75 point - If you execute your block but give up ground or it isn't clean
.5 point - If you get beat but recover and the play isn't impacted
.25 point - If you get beat and recover but the play is directly impacted
0 point - If you get beat, don't recover, and the play is directly impacted
Additional .25 - Pancake block or multiple blocks on one play

-.5 point per penalty per 5 yards assessed. False start equals a negative .5 point for example. Holding is negative one point. Split penalties if both jump so allocates to each.

It's not perfect but it can hopefully give fans some perspective on how individual players are doing. If there is interest, I'd be happy to turn on the tape and grade the starting five.

I would love that. Seeing your unbiased metrics would be helpful, no matter what they show.

I think that would be really interesting although I'm afraid to see what it says. Out of curiosity - Do you watch a set number of plays for each player and then average the points or do you do it as a cumulative?

I wouldn't care if we lost every game from here on out if Mayginnes and Walker never saw the field again. That was an absolute embarrassment Saturday.

Wow. I didn't watch much because the Idaho/Sac game was fantastic & I hadn't seen either team yet this season. Do you think Bobby will sit some of the O linemen?

and I'm not even talking about their PLAY. I'm talking about their behavior and body language DURING plays.

Heck at this point move Walker to DT

I had that exact thought on Sunday morning. We'd be better served with him there than wasting space at LT. He's an absolute liability at that position.

I'll have to see if I can find the replay. What a mess.

Grade every play for the starting lineman on a 1-0 scale. Divide final total by number of plays. Brake out run vs. pass.

Thanks for the info. I would assume that's what our coaching staff gets paid to do but of course we never know about those evaluations. I can't speak for everybody but I would be fascinated to see what you come up with. Even if it's absolutely terrible news, at least we would understand the reality of the situation.

If he does, it will be a blood bath for whatever QB is in the game. We are awful after you get past the first wave of OL. Even worse by a multiple, if you can even imagine. Whoever comes in next season, and we will have a new HC next year, better hit the portal on day one. We have absolutely NOTHING for an OL or a DL. It's sooooooooo bad.
