This! As fun as it is for NDSU or E Washington or whoever to win games like this it doesn't do the FCS any good. Several bad things happen.

1. You tend to get your team beat up, no as many scholarships ect ect.
2. The BCS fans no matter what consider it a fluke so they chuckle it off.
3. BCS teams stop scheduling FCS guys that need the $$.

Iowa State fans, Minny Gopher fans, Nebraska fans, et al may be chuckling at this loss to an FCS school........but, believe me, as I was walking out of Kinnick Stadium after the game today, there weren't any Hawkeye fans chuckling.

My head said Iowa would win the game. They brought back the kitchen sink from last year's team. I watched the first two games and was really impressed by their team.

But.....I knew this team had a chance. Why? They are the f***[*] Bison. This is what they do.

Honestly, I put this win above App State. NDSU straight up punched Iowa in the mouth and beat them at their own game. Have not seen a ranked FBS team beat in that fashion.

Nope. Not even close to the App/Michigan game. Sorry.

Maybe....never seen a FCS team beat a ranked FBS the way NDSU did. To go in an physically control the game is a remarkable team effort that you will likely never see again. You will see an Amari Edwards type player or an explosive offense catch a ranked team off guards again early in the season. Doubtful on week three you will ever see an FCS team physically control the line of scrimmage against a ranked FBS team again. It was absolutely incredible to watch this take place. Iowa has a few guys on that offensive and defensive line that will play on Sundays and NDSU just flat out beat the living piss out of them. Nearly 250 yards rushing against a top ranked FBS defense and held them to under 50 yards rushing. Unreal.

I don't think this one will be close. Without Bob Jensen or the Ginga Ninja, the T-Buffs are lucky to have eeked out two OT wins at home, both of which they should have lost. Iowa will win this one with a few garbage scores at the end by the T-Buffs, and T-Buffers will talk about how they almost won for years on eGriz.

Being the one that looks to always be funny, how's that egg taste? Looks like the yoke's on you.

Na he don't give a fuck. Living the Cali dream.

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of living in California, and its far from a dream......more like a nightmare with a little bit of sugar.

Bingo. Little slow on the uptake, but you got there.

...to understand why ndsu is so good...
...you don't have to look any further...
...size and speed of the offensive line...

... :o ...

But the don't try to get 100 plays a game, and they don't use a TE and they have big backs and sometimes use fullbacks on occasion.....oh wait never mind....

No way this win ranks above APp state VS Michigan. for one thing I will guarantee you will not see NDSU ranked in the BCS top 25 this week. That is what happened with App State. App State beat the number 5 ranked team in the country that year and and had to pull off amazing plays in every aspect of the game. Even blocking a field goal to win it. This was great win probably in the top 3 but not the best FCS vs FBS win of all time.

You are wrong. App State was never ranked in the top 25. They received 5 votes for the top 25 and were the first FCS team to do that. NDSU has received top 25 votes on many occasions. NDSU received 17 votes in the final AP poll following the 2013 season which placed them just outside the top 25.

I wouldn't guarantee that NDSU does not crack the poll this week. ESPN said last night that the AP had to send out an email to voters due to the level of interest in voting them into the top 25. They might not make it, but I bet they get close.

NDSU will get some token votes, but a FCS team will not get into the Top 25. Looking at how far Iowa fell after losing to them seems to demonstrate the lack of respect football people have for FCS in general.

Just was released. 74 points. Tie for 27th with UCLA. Dam close.

Good job representing the FCS again, always good to see the big boys take a hit.

Meanwhile, Montana State pissing down their legs after the first against some D plus a bunch of capital i's school. Ridiculous.

Kudos to the bizon, didn't think it would happen, would like to watch the game now. I thought EWU was robbed of a win in Fargo but that was great football there too.

I think the Big Sky is 4-3 vs. MVFC the past two weeks?

Pretty sure 2011bizcum or another biz-head on this board said their only threat was UNI. Well, UNI is 0-2 vs Big Sky this year, and 1-0 vs Big 12. Kinda interesting stat.

Oh, and my Bobcats did not 'piss down their leg' - they won 55-0 with about 10 true freshmen playing all 2nd half, and one 17 year-old scoring 3 TDs. I can only hope that's not too much of an embarrassment for you big bad griz fans.

When did I say that? I just said UNI is the team I consistently worry about.

Just thought it's interesting that the team you consistently worry about is 0-2 vs Big Sky teams this year.

Sure enough, there is a "Fire Farley" thread at Panther Nation, interestingly, a resurrected old thread.

http://www.panthernation.com/showthread.php?s=a27eb73f9699ffcd244e76174b381304&t=65404

My personal opinion is that he has a job here until he decides to retire. Or until some MAC team is gracious enough to take him off our hands...but the real culprit is salmon, he's the one running the show with our "dynamic" spread offense. But we all know how this will play out, 7-4 and my guess is mahaffey will be the fall guy, and a few other asst. coaches will leave as well. I have no idea on what it would take to buy out farleys contract, but I'm sure our department does not have the money to do so even if David Harris has the stones to want to pull the plug on this current regime. My assumption is that the status quo will remain, we will continue to try and tell ourselves that we are on the same level as NDSU, while Klieman and company laugh their ass off at us as they hoist a couple more championship trophies.
Everything you said is stone cold true.

Uni was up 24-7 at half. EWU adapted to the environment, UNI failed to adapt again. AGAIN!?!!!?!! We got different players then 5 years ago. But the same **** happens.

It's not the O-line, it's not Bailey, Kollmorgan, Rennie, I can keep naming talented players....... But it's not anyone wearing a jersey.

I don't want Farley fired, the guy is really good at recruiting and builds players. Defensive wise he knows he stuff too but we need fresh ideas for the O.

I had flashbacks from Iowa City circa 2009 yesterday. But that team won and they'll never let the poor hawkeyes forget. I just wish that can be us next year.

If you say so, I guess being tied with a team the caliber of Hellgates C-squad with a few seconds left in the first is a great win for your squad, but fortunately you wore them down by attrition and finally got going. Great win.

Why did they burn so many red shirts?

I never said "great win" just stated facts, this board said what an embarrassment

Comparable: MSU up 34-0 at half

2013 Montana 47 OK Panhandle State 14 ( Div II Independent) griz up 38-14 at half

2014 Montana 48 Central Washington 14 (GNAC Div II) - griz up 34-7 at half

Should you be embarrassed by these wins?

Neither am I

I for one wish we wouldn't have. New coach has that philosophy- best player wins the job, and he said again in the presser that we need all guys that can play getting experience 'cause we'll need them come November.

Multiple DL injuries required guys to play now

Some kids like Hadley and Pegues are ready now.

Still scratching my head on Murray, thought for sure he'd redshirt as a 6'4" 180 lb QB. But hey, he's already scored 4 TDs so what do I know.
