Hard to say which coach is not ready for the job..
Until now, I did not think I'd ever see a Griz team quit. Not sure I can say that any more. The talent is there, but the coaching staff seems totally clueless: on the "Xs & Os" and on motivation.

Once again, how do you know the talent is there? Do you really think McKinney would start on any other team in the Big Sky?
moot point...he is not ready...and no one else is either...

Not a moot point, everyone seems to think that no other team has the talent that Montana has, but that is not the case. McKinney is the most obvious example, but it does not stop there. If Montana has such great talent, how come they had exactly 2 players chosen preseason all conference? Heck, that was one less than Davis and the same number as UNC.

This might get a little deep and throwing some blame in the wrong direction, but the Washington State fans I know said that when Pflugrad came in and was the recruiting coordinator, his players (I think he left after recruiting them) over the next 3-4 years sucked. I happen to think we have some talent by all the scouting reports and film... but they sure as hell don't play like it. TERRIBLE offensive line explosion... A QB that isn't anywhere near ready to play... leaving kids like Kirschner on the bench to rot. I don't get it.

We do seem to lack in talent and we do seem to lack in direction

A fair question.....was the cupboard left bare....

TM wasn't ready to start, and with JJ here, wouldn't have had to be ready for two more years...loaded every where else. Bring Pflu back and JJ still on the team. totally different season.

Lamo head coach that will not put AB in (or my grandma), and at least see what could be. This coach is an absolute bomb....

Do the griz still have a chance to make playoffs after todays game?

UM coaching staff is horrible, they all need to be replaced now. The punting unit backs off the line of scrimmage about 10 yards and coaching staff doesn't think the other team is going to take advantage of it... never seen anything so stupid in my life. SMH.

Chase Naccarato doesn't do crap on kickoffs all season. Nguyen needs to be back there, I rather have Nguyen receive kickoffs then punt returns.

I honestly will blame this season on coach Robin Pflugrad. If he took care of business off and on the field, making sure all his players were not getting in to trouble, our season would've been totally different. We would still have Pflugrad, Jordan Johnson, and a few others; We would be 7-0 right now.

You blame Pflugrad for this! Bobby Hauck let a culture take hold here of being above the law. Pflugrad tried to remedy it with academic intervention and was shot down by the U. Took hell for believing that a human is innocent until proven guilty, and got fired all of the above. Meanwhile, Royce the fuck Engstrom hires this log, puts a head set on him and tries to pass him off as a football coach with character.

This guy couldn't lead a horse to water, let alone make him drink. And the best part is, that we get him for at least one more year....ya know, for the good of the university and community. We can all sleep better at night.

If anyone needs me I will be at drinkyland.com

My chica is supposed to be coming over at 9:00 pm. I will be way past whiskey-dicked by then. Good luck chica!!

Relax...Engstrom is already thumbing through the rollodex for another maroon and silver Montana-bred coaching replacement to fill the breach. :thumb:

To be honest with you I'm worried about the talent level as well as the coaching....

Someone slashed our tires in the Finnegan's parking lot during the game... dammit.

that's fair...we all have our egriz reasons why things have gone to hell...I think it was the firing of Pflugrad. I don't think there is a problem with talent. I do think that the Griz head coach is horrid, and directing his coordinators to trend back towards bobby ball. Paulson like defense, only run the fucking ball and getting cutesy with special teams...

the good news is....that no one has to agree with me.

A few years of half empty stadium will solve the coaching problem. Hopefully it doesn't get to that.

It shouldn't matter who's coaching. Don't you remember anyone can win at UM!!! I see a program that could quickly fade...we don't have the talent we have had in the past and combine that with a lot of new coaches and it totals a very difficult next few years. Recruiting is getting tougher with every loss....

I think we have the horses but the trainer is no good. We win first game with talent. Loose at App State with some questionable calls. Loose at EWU after being up. Players see issues with coaching decisions. Loose at home to NAU after being up. Players again suffer loss on coaching. Granted there was fumbles and ints that aided in the losses but each of these games we were in hand at times. We beat liberty on talent and beat UNC on talent. I think there is a huge lack of leadership and coaching ability. This team I believe feels that coaching has lost them games. The team also sees coaches locking players up so to speak that have questioned or judged coaching decisions. Coach D is not the man for this job plain and simple. If UM sticks with Coach D next year we may very well see this team in the hole for a good many years. It truly is shocking to see.

I think that is a pretty good point. I loved coach Pflugrad but he needed to take care of business off the field. Everyone should have known that Mick was not going to come in here and kick ass. I did, but he was what we needed at the time. alot of wishful thinking, most everyone is getting this rude awakening right now but I honestly knew this season was going to be a down one when pflugrad was fired.

Yeah, when Pflu got fired, I too feared this would be something of a down season -- but, I didn't realize it was going to be a f---ing embarassment.

There was a player on SUU that got ejected today, and I think it was #28. What did he do to cause him to be yanked from the game?
