The NDSU message board

A dome is supposed to be louder than an open stadium. Despite NDSU playing in a dome, it is pretty damn impressive when a fan base with an open stadium can compete in noise levels with a dome. Anyone saying the GRIZ do not know what loud is, is way off base.

Each program, school, and fan base has earned a reputation for being amongst the loudest in the FCS, and it is wrong to take that away from either fan base.
You are exactly right. The acoustics of a dome make it easier for it to get louder than an outdoor stadium. I have no doubt that Washington grizzly stadium does get loud, and to say that the griz have no idea what loud is, that is obviously not true. However, the people on here saying that it has been proven time and again that Wa-Griz is louder than the fargodome are incorrect.

Seriously, take that roof off and that statement becomes correct by a long shot.

I know this will be hard for some of you to grasp, but that arrogance you are referring to is EXACTLY how many of the griz fan base used to act back when you were on top of the FCS, and in fact some fans still act that way, even though you've fallen from your perch. That arrogance is why most true Cat fans can't stand anything grizzly.

How is that relevant at all? Are they planning on removing the roof of the fargodome sometime soon?

Also, I just want to point out that Wa-Griz stadium is way colder in December than inside the fargodome, but if you enclosed your stadium and move NDSU's games outdoors, the NDSU games would be way colder. (Kind of a ridiculous argument, right?)

Rocky: Again?
Bullwinkle: Presto!
Lion: ROAR!!!

Only the eGriz fan base.

Whatever happened to great teams and their fan bases having a great deal of mutual respect? I look at Lou holtz and admire his respect for each opponent and their program. Brint is right, and I hate to admit it, but poorgriz as well. A classy fan base is one that both wins and loses with, well, class obviously. Moreover, NDSU has every reason to believe that they will win this game. Last year we had two common opponents off the top of my head; We each played both coastal Carolina and University of South Dakota. The griz won one and lost one, and struggled against each, while NDSU blew them both out. The reality is that this is probably the best team on our schedule this year, certainly better than Wyoming or EWU. Insofar as the griz "deserve" respect, the Bison have earned the same.

I have to agree with a few posters here. NDSU has every right to be cocky, they earned it. The win streak and title streak they are in plus beating FBS team will go down as a great era in FCS history. It wasn't long ago that Griz fans were just as cocky as NDSU fans. It's amazing that some of you don't recognize it and are acting all hurt about it.

Personally, I do have a lot of respect for Montana. The Griz have been consistently good for many many years. It is very impressive. Honestly, I think some of the attitude (or lack of respect) from NDSU fans are because it wasn't that long ago when NDSU fans were hearing how their D2 championships meant nothing anymore, and that they should "come back when they've won some FCS national championships."

NDSU 5-0 against FBS teams, 21-0 against the rest, 3 rings. Hard not to be cocky after this run.

NDSU came back and dominated Iowa St. Montana hung with but lost to a weak Wyoming team.

IF Montana can get their heads on straight on offense I think they have a chance - this after watching the Weber game - but NDSU beats you down and gets you in predictable offensive situations and comes at you. Montana will have to play very well but has the weapons to play toe-to-toe with NDSU. Can they put it together consistently for an entire game against the best FCS program on the road?????

Yes their program and fan base have earned it. I don't have problem with that. However, making outlandish statements about your opponent or opponents fan base not knowing what loud is, that is not true nor being realistic. They have earned the right to be brag, be cocky, etc about the results on the field. Just keep what your bragging and being cocky about realistic!

That goes for any fan base, not just NDSU's.

+1. When you are at the top, it's nice to show respect to others who have been there too. App State was the perfect example of class... Won 3-straight and still was respectful and knowledgeable about Montana's program when we played our home-and-home. NDSU has a great program and deserves respect. Some Bison fans though (a small minority) are definitely not showing any class though.

So I would look at it differently. When have the Griz (current) played against somebody where their offense had to endure 110-115 decibels? I also think that you could come up with something worse to get worked up about than "they don't know what loud is".

That's why app fans were awesome...ndsu's fans could win 400 nc's in a row, or lose 3890 games in a row....doesn't matter, they'll be douche nozzles in any scenario...

Have any of you guys been to an NDSU game and met NDSU fans in person? NDSU fans talk a lot of smack, but if any of you go to the game, walk through the tailgating lots and I promise you that you will meet tons of awesome people and have all the food and drinks you would ever want. I think your perspective of NDSU fans would change.

Before you speak, make sure your comment at least make a valid point. Hello pot? This is kettle calling.

Doesn't everyone just love fans that base a fanbase on message board smack? If we all thought that way every single fanbase would be a giant DOUCHE. NDSU AND Montana are much more alike that a few people here would like to admit. Any level headed fan (most of us) realize this is a great game and we both have two great fanbases.

This is a much more real discussion to have regarding how loud it is at the Fargo Dome vs. Washington Grizzly Stadium. Since it will only get real loud when the Griz are on offense and we would NEVER do that to our offense when playing at WGS, I suspect that this edition of the Griz offense will never have faced this kind of noise while having to get off an offensive play. They know the noise, but have just never had to execute during it. It will be a real challenge.
Go Griz!

As someone who has lived in Bozeman for years, Cats fans' superiority complex over all things Grizzly/Missoula puts our fanbase's "arrogance" to shame

A good portion of any fanbase in any sport = gigantic douchebags. Period. And when the team is on top, those douchebags are loud.
