The Missoulian's Correction

No kidding! Using TNT's idea: theoretically O'day's next job could be with the GSA where he would have an office on campus and receive a paycheck from U of M and NOT be an employee of the University.

Honestly, that would be hilarious. :thumb:

Okay, I'll admit it, I have a sneaking suspicion that these people party their brains out. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

All I know is if I were O'Day I would be partying so hard that the whores would have to put me to bed. What are they gonna do? Fire him?

nola is a damn fine town. it would be an even finer without all the dumbass tourists who go to bourbon street to 'party', which is probably what the greenie-type boosters who go on those trips like to do. i wish they'd just go to vegas and leave nola alone.

I wonder if O'Day might have an opportunity to go to the ncaa. He's been on a major committee for 4 years, and was chair for the last 2. Has gotten to know various people, including the big cheese Emmert, well. Emmert called him shortly after this came down late last week, and I believe expressed support for him.

Thanks, tnt. What's the deal with the GSA and the GAA? Are they separate organizations? And they're not considered "University" operations? Where are they physically located? Do they hire their own employees? (I assume they're 501(c)(3) organizations, right? Which is why I get to deduct part of my season ticket costs?)

There is no such creature as the GAA and hasn't been for maybe 10 years.

ODay is a true griz through and through. He never deserved to be treated this way by UM and I hope that he will have only greater success in the future.

O'Day (probably) sealed his fate by refusing to put a bullet in Pflu. That being said, he's probably built up a nice network of contacts over the years in his time in the national FCS spotlight and, as they say, it's not what you know but who you know. By all accounts he's a good guy and I hope he lands on his feet.

O'Day doesn't know why he was fired. It was a complete surprise. He was never asked to fire Pflu.

As AD, should he have to be asked? Perhaps he was fired for not having the judgement to make that call without being told...

You have to excuse some of us old farts. We played for and graduated from MSU, so I guess we can't really be Griz either. . . . GAA is a lot easier to say than the other mouthful that tries to make us sound like something other than what we are. These little junkets aren't really scholarships now are they? Or sky boxes. Or bar/ restraunts instead of fan seating, or anonymous carpeting on the field when someones kid is in a battle to be QB. . . . . Its boosters period Everything we can do to help our team be the best (or egos the best fed and or access the best. . . . .

Since we are in the realm of supposition because of the Official UM silence on the firings, its as likely the firings were Engstrom covering his own negligence in lack of leadership (Saudi Rape charges, gang rape allegations by non athlete UM students, and UM being an alleged rape campus in general.)

I'm curious... who called in the Femi Nazi (someone else's term) to do an investigation of the university's "rape" problem?

Honestly, this whole thing seems way more newsworthy than "rumored allegations." I suspect places like Miami or Texas have similar fundraising arms that make UM seem like child's play, but this seems like a real scam to me.
