"The hope they both lose bowl" FCS Champ Thread

When you have to rely on a qb running, they're going to get hurt sooner or later. You only do this if you have a qb on the bench that can take over without missing a beat. You don't want your only qb running constantly. Really hope the staff realizes this and limits the qb rub plays. The kid got talent, don't waste it on being injured. On another note, Bobshats have had an easy schedule all year. Lucked out in the bracket. When I first seen the bracket, I told the ol lady that I wouldn't be surprised if MSU got to the NC. Also said it's going to be extremely hard for the Griz to get past JMU and NDSU. The top dogs of the FCS. Their game really was the NC. They need to do a better job of separating top teams in the bracket. I also think MSU wouldn't have even made it that far if teams had enough film on Mellot. They struck gold and lucked out. Everyone has got some film on him now and I doubt they rely on his run game as much. I'll be surprised if the Bobcats end up in the top 15 next year by seasons end.

If Touchdown Tommy had not gotten hurt it would have still been a beatdown. Anderson is also not nearly as good as so many think--he looked average at best today.. Cats lose a bunch of players and will be lucky to finish in the top 3-4 in BSC but Cat fans will have them wining the National Championship just like they always do. Also if Cats are smart Tommy will not be the QB next year--his greatest skill is running and he will get killed if he keeps doing that as a QB and he is not a real great passer.

They are losing a ton of guys on both sides of the ball, but they got a soft schedule. I’m working on a way too early Big Sky preview for 2022, I hope to have it up later in the week.

mellott being done is a huge impact, just like Cam going down against JMU. They just don’t stand much of a chance without Tommy.

The last I checked Mellott does not play on defensive side of the ball......the Bison were who they are, period. ;) ;) ;)

Quite frankly, the lad from Butte didn’t have anything to do with the defense being owned!

Sat. our local paper in big headlines "We're All Bobcats Now", which I texted to my niece. Her response, F That, and we all wore Griz gear. Was my best birthday ever!!!

This, for sure. Had Mellott not gotten hurt, the Cats might have scored another 7-10 points, but nothing was going to change the dominance of the NDSU O-line.

Vigen's track record with QB's is outstanding. If he starts Tommy next season, then he believes that he is going to be a very good QB. I am sure he will bring in some good competition for him. None of the current players are his own. His plan is to build using the NDSU model. Will be interesting to see it unfold. I couldn't believe how many North Dakota fans and one of his ex-players there, unsolicited, said the Cats will be back in Frisco again soon with Vigen as the coach. They all had very high praise for him.

Well, two more attempts and he’ll match Bobby’s record of futility.
