The GRIZ Have a Long Way to Go

Sorry Elrod but this is one of the only times I will disagree with you. Nothing against Brian Johnson but I’m a Bon Scott fan. Angus and the boys did the best they could replacing him but honestly, there is no replacing Bon Scott.
I feel like we can't come back from this. Are we going to end up tussling over which AC/DC song to put on when I get you over for a BBQ? I don't want to get beat up in front of my family, man.

You're not wrong about Bon Scott, but that album is just start to finish classic. Maybe I just grew up with my older brother playing is straight through too much, because that album just is banger after banger that hits all my dopamine.

No, I’ll give you a pass on this. Music is a 100% “ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Everyone’s got their own tastes. I just won’t respect your musical opinion anymore😁😁.

You are such a bozo. Idaho St was ranked one of the best passing teams. PSU qb is one of the best playing in BSC
Is this a joke? In the Big Sky, ISU and PSU are 5th and 9th in scoring offense. 6th and 9th in total offense.

The PSU QB is 8th in conference in QB passing, completes 59%, and averages 64 yards rushing, for 5.3 per rush. The ISU QB averages 227 passing per game. In conference, which is when Fife began starting, he has averaged 302 passing per game.

The ISU QB’s completion average is 57% and he has 4 picks. His efficiency rating is 129, and the PSU QB’s is 135.

In completion percentage, they are the 2d and 3d lowest in the conference. Fife is 154, and 4th in the conference.

This is your idea of top offenses the Cats have faced? Get out of here with your weak stuff.

There is no tussle, there is Bon Scott AC/DC the rest is pop crap

Fwiw, Idaho State has used multiple QB’s this year. Hardly works to use just one QB’s stats then. In conference play, which you’re using for Fife, ISU is averaging 298 passing yards per game. That is skewed a little lower because against State, they only threw for 201 yards. In the 3 conference games excluding State, they’ve averaged 330, although a huge game against PSU raises that average. Only common opponent so far is NAU. ISU threw for 280 2-1 on 50%, 6.7 YPA. Fife threw for 199 1/0 on 59%, 7.4 YPA.

PSU is a garbage offense. I agree I wouldn’t take much from them. ISU is a solid passing team at worst, but I’d say probably at least a good passing team.

I've been thinking about statistical comparisons, common opponents, etc. I think the biggest thing I take away from them is the C-word. The thing every coach says is paramount: Consistency. If you are here, you are a fan of an FCS program. Those programs have FCS players. Every team in the conference has players somewhere on the roster who are big, fast, and strong enough to play in a major FBS conference on paper. But do they bring the same thing every day? Is the delta between their best games and their worst games as narrow as those players in the major FBS conferences? I'd venture probably not on average. They play FCS for a reason. There are always exceptions, of course.

You take a group of guys whose bests are way better than their worsts and put them on a team together, you're going to see a wider variance in performance week-to-week. One or two starters have a bad game on the same day? Maybe you can get through it. If four or five have a bad game on the same day, that makes it tougher. Factor in nagging injuries, personal stuff, school, etc., and it makes it even tougher to predict. As much as we'd like them to be, most of these guys aren't the players you can just show a FB field and have a really good idea of what they're going to show.

Accordingly, I don't put too much stock in the "We had X number of yards against Y team, and you only had Z, so we're better" type of analysis.

Not sure why I am weighing in, but Rosie (the live version on If You Want Blood) is the best AC/DC song. My favorite AC/DC album has to be Powerage. Riff Raff should be played at every Griz game.

Best American rock album of all time? AC/DC is an Australian band. Try Toys in the Attic by Aerosmith, Zen Arcade by Husker Du, or Rocket to Russia by the Ramones.

Now, back to football. Let’s hope we see improved defense after the bye week.
+ 1billion

Oh BS. The Cats don’t sub out the starters that quickly. In the games-times I watched, I didn’t think the Cats defense was great. Never thought that for one second. The Cats have played some weak offenses, tho. If you want to say you like the Cats’ D, I won’t challenge that. Poorgriz and Miney are football idiots. Thx
This reminds when you were completely wrong about the MSU IPF. I'll tell you now what I told you then: your insiders at MSU suck and you have bad info. You simply aren't following the Cats close enough to comment and/or your insiders are giving you bad data. Here's direct from Stuber's careful analysis, who unlike you, follows the Cats comprehensively and works from complete data. Thx.

lol stuber 😂
He’s the guy who said he was actually glad the bubz coordinators got their dui’s because they got it out of their system and it was more likely they would not get another DUI going forward. 😆
My Gosh, that dude really knows his stuff
Yeah, that was classic. I see his name and I'm instantly all like, "nothing to see here but complete and utter bullshit, people. Move it along"

Couldn’t make it up if I wanted to, and nobody would believe me if I did. Dude literally had the worst take of any beat writer in history.

Imagine believing, “We need to get this new coordinator all sauce’d up, put him behind the wheel, and send him down Main Street…it’s like an investment in the future…not only will the coach get his DUI out of the way but he will also be forced to stay here and won’t get snatched up by a bigger school…it’s a win-win at all costs”

Unbelievable. And the crazy part is that Colter actually pays this moron money for his thoughts.

41 points so far is not an average of 3 points per game. In fact, your guy Stuber, whomever he is, agrees with me. That 3 number was the number I was calling BS on, and, of course, I was right. I don't even know what IPF is. My insiders at MSU were right on everything they told me last season. I haven't asked them anything this season.

I just googled IPF. This is what I got. "Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

Illness". The first word applies to certain Cat posters.

Last season, I was right that the Griz would beat the Cats and would be favorites coming into the game. No one else said UM would be favorites. I was right when I said that Tim Hauck and the DC would design a D that would shut down the Cats' O. The Griz D did shut down the Cat O. I was right that the Griz would go deep in the playoffs and the Cats wouldn't. I was right that the Cats would lose to good teams in the conference later in the season. I was right that the Griz running backs were better and deeper than the Cats. I, and every Griz and some Cat fans, was right that Mellott wasn't a good passer. I was right that the Cats had the luxury of 2 good QB's who could run their offense well, but wouldn't be good if both QB's were out. I was right that the Cats peaked way too early in the season. I was right that the Cats didn't have a top defense. I was right that a bunch of Cat posters on egriz were full of BS.

Let's bet $100 even up on the Griz/Cat game.

Agreed. It’s unacceptable the talent drop off that has happened from last year to this year given the resources, tradition, etc. However, there is still a lot of football yet to be played and after last year’s turnaround I will remain optimistic.
Where is the talent drop off? The offense is better and has many of the same players. On D, no Gubner. Some of the secondary making big mistakes are guys who played last year. Name some names. Let’s have a discussion. Are Gradney, Meyer and Lee less “talented” this year than they were last year? I think d/end play is better this year. Maybe some backers but the backers are pretty good and deep. I. of course, agree the D is not playing nearly as well as last year. Show. me where the talent level dropped. I will listen.

I didn't say it was 3 points a game. I was correcting another poster on that fact. Man PR. Try to keep up.
