this year we will do very well. We will be no less than 8-3 and could win the conference and will get a playoff game maybe 2. Nice having Montana's best playing.

You're high.

Schedule says 8-3 is very possible... You need to worry about your kittens they are close to 3-8.

It;s possible but extremely unlikely. As is MSU going 3-8. If you guys would just accept that Bobby isn't going to be able to come in there and instantly work miracles with the current roster, you'd be better off. You will be underdogs in at least six of your games from what I can tell.

Why the hell would Griz Nation "just accept" that 2018 will be anything less than great? Certainly the team and coaches don't buy into that kind of losing bobcat mind set. We would much prefer to judge 2018 on actual results, and we have a lot of reasons for optimism. You can keep your winning football strategies to yourselves over there in bozeman.

And about 10 players won't be on the roster come opening day. About right considering all the freshman and sophomore wallkons. Step up or say goodbye.

Really? Do tell.

UNI @ home? Nope. We beat them IN THEIR HOUSE last year, with a mediocre coach and non-existent offense. BH’s team will run them out of town on a rail.
Drake @ home?  nope
@WIU? Possibly.
Suck St @ home? Nope. When was the last time Suck State beat us? At home?
CP? Nope. Yes, it’s in CP, but they were 1-10 last year. Even if they’re significantly better, we won’t be underdogs.
PSU? Nope. 0-11 last year.
UND? Nope. 3-8 last year. Yes, it’s in ND...so there’s a chance, but we won’t be underdogs
UCD? Possibly...but I doubt it being a home game
@ SUU? Probably, depending on how the season for both teams have transpired by then
@ Idaho? Probably, again, depending on how the season has gone
MSU @ home? I highly doubt it.

So, I count 2 probably and 2 possible....meanwhile, the team scrambling to find a QB at the last minute will be anointed pre=season champs and favorites to go 11-0.

And yet you guys are god? This is what pisses me off the most about you guys. You went 4-7, 5-6, and suddenly your gonna go 9-2 with one of the toughest schedules in the country with a backup QB who’s not nearly as dynamic as Murray, and you still think your somehow gonna be favorites on the road in Missoula with a backup QB? Funny.

My view is that there is similar fault, and failure to recognize progress, prospects and reality, by multiple posters on each side.

To me, it is undeniable that the Choate led Cats have been credible, or more than credible, and are building the program and team strength. They have played a tough schedule, have beaten the Griz twice in a row, and were very close last year in multiple games against playoff teams. Just didn't quite get the job done in those games, but seem to be on the verge of winning many of those games. Those close to the Cat program and who talk to coaches and players are quite optimistic about the progress and prospects. Losing Murray is a blow, but well-coached teams and developing/strong programs find ways to adjust and get the job done. In the immortal words of CDA, we shall see.

On the other hand, I don't believe it will "take a miracle" for the Hauck led Griz to have a good, or at least solid, season. There is talent on the team. Some holes have been filled. QB seems solid or even better. I think the offense has very good potential, and, based on little or nothing, I think the o-line will be fine. Hauck has consistently said in private that this group of guys really wants to win, and are working at it. My impression is that the coaches have been a bit surprised by the strong desire and generally good attitude of the team. Hauck's teams always play at least pretty good defense. Does anyone not expect special teams to improve? JLM and other returners should prosper under Hauck. Williams appears poised to have a great season. There are 3 solid kickers on the roster, and Peppenger's arrival is likely to increase the level of competition. Heard that GP got his release signed and will be eligible. Former kicker Sullivan got married this weekend, so a bunch of former kickers and players were around at the lake. Former kicker Harrison Greenberg stopped by. He works in NYC for Morgan Stanley. He's a smart kid who is motivated to go places.

In talking to a few players, they believe the team will be good. That means something to me. Looks like Calhoun is safe. May have a concerning injury or two, but hopefully that will turn out fine too.

I don’t know about the ‘scats but I agree with your assessment of the Griz. QB is better, holes have been filled, and I also believe O-line will be fine. Looking forward to the season.

* and if we land the UCLA safety/LB guy, it’ll be even better!

Well if he wants to play in front of a decent crowd he should definitely forget about UNM and choose UM. Actually, there's really only one choice no matter how you look at it.

Everyone thought we were only using 4-2-5 during spring for depth purposes but I bet we see it a lot this year with our depth. Part of the reason we lost some of the players is that we asked them to do things like eat blocks and switch schemes from what they did before. I also bet we see some 5-2-4. Expect it often in the start of the year with some injuries that are present on the team.
